Question about Quasar SP-2723 27" TV

1 Answer

Audio not working. A humming sort of sound comes out that can be adjusted louder or softer by the volume control; but the audio itself doesn't work. The TV is directly cable connected to the VHF/UHF on the back of the TV. The sound was working find but the picture was flickering so I removed the back cover and adjusted the VHF/UHF receptacle to better align it with the incoming cable. This fixed the picture problem and the sound was still working fine. However, I must have done something when I tried to reinstall the back cover as it took me a while to figure out how to reposition the circuit board so the cover would properly slide back into place. Now the picture works fine but the sound is gone! Is this a minor problem that requires a slight adjustment?

Ok so 1 of my kidos has the RCA 20F420T tv, and i guess there is no headphone jack hole, so i went and bought adapter that plugs into the av jacks, still doesnt work can you please help!!!

Without knowing the specifics on this adapter - I can provide only provide some clues as to how this works.

Basically, the A/V jacks on a TV has a "fixed" audio output level - this means that the sound levels on the A/V jacks is NOT controlled by the volume control of the TV itself. You should be able to set the TV volume to minimum and then use the adapter's volume control to make the earphone / headphone sound louder and softer. Your TV however, may have a setting in the menu that can change the audio from "fixed" to "variable". If set to "variable", when turning the volume down for the TV's built in speakers will also turn the volume down on the A/V jacks as well. You do not want this to work like that as the sound in the headphones and the TV speakers will be same - instead of the TV speakers being off and the headphones on.

I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thanks!

The master audio control is not shown in my toolbar..there is sound but i cant control it.. like i want to make it louder or softer or mute. what should i do?

Hello you can enable this option(showing volume control in task bar). This is how you enable it.You click on Start button and continue to the Control Panel item of the Start menu, then in the Control Panel window find Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices section, click on it.Then click on Sounds and Audio Devices. In the Volume tab (top line of buttons) you will see a check-box"Place volume icon in the task bar" put a tick on it and click Apply. Now you are done and you should see the volume icon:)

During television programming the volume fades and comes back

Could be a audio compression issue, try looking into the direct audio menu to see if you can set audio compression, this is common on cable box broadcast, could be more so with satellite.

SA-AK95 volume control problem

This volume controls is actually what is called an encoder. The control itself needs to be replaced. Figure on $5-$10 for the part plus the local labor rate for the total repair cost.
