Good day sir, changing the tubes won't solve the problem, sad to say it but you may need to bring it to a veteran technician, that knows tube amps. there are simply lots of things to check for. hope this helps, thanks

Crate flexwave 120 head effects malfunctioning

That is probably a momentary switch that is dirty and sticking. These onboard effects on guitar amps are usually nothing more than a computer sound card and I've found bad connections going to and from them as well. I do think that switch is dirty and sticking, though.

Hi

The problem is with the amplifier itself. Crackling is usually capacitor related and you will need to have the amp checked over to properly identify the cause.

Some amps are also prone to pick up static from other electrical items which can also cause these problems. I had a crackling issue with an old Crate amp of mine which turned out it was due to being too near a computer/monitor so it is worth eliminating these things as a possible cause before having the amp checked.

Hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.

Crate 100 head. Reverb doesn't work.

Check the input RCA plug going into the reverb tank (silver box with two wires connected to it). Make sure the amp is off when you do this. Sounds like the output is working fine if hitting the amp does it.

Crate bv120.no power or sound..no lights..f6 fuse has 160 ohms...

did you change out the fuse? could be a tranny going south. if you change the fuse and you still get no power, then you have a fried power transformer. they are relatively easy to replace. look on ebay . get the numbers off of the existing one and start web searching. something will come up. if not email me on my contacts tab in my website yostamplifier.com we can troubleshoot. you should see the custom blue voodoo i built and gave to my little brother.

My Crate blue voodo amp head

Hi...

1st off , check the connections from the head output jack to the speaker cab. If you can get hold of a meter , check the continuity on the cable (center wire to center wire , ground wire to ground wire) both should be about 0 ohms.
Do you have another speaker cab you can try>?

You might have a speaker fuse internal on the amp too OR a secondary fuse on one of the power supply lines
