Question about Maytag Dryers

Open Question

Maytag MDG7600AWW dryer flame turns off after 15 secs.

I have a maytag MDG7600AWW dryer. The igniter glows, the gas supply is turned on & the flame comes on. The problem is that after 15 secs the flame goes away. After about a minute, the ignitor glows again & the flame fires off but turns off after 15 secs or so. This cycle repeats.

I checked the air vents & there is air coming out from both vents ( Dryer & out of the house).

Since the flame is coming, i believe that the ignitor & flame sensor are working properly & so are the gas coils.

Could the thermostat be the problem? What else could go wrong?

I haven't checked any electricals but they seem hard to get to without removing the side panels. Is that the only way to get to it?

Can someone tell me what to check next?

Thanks.

You may want to disconnect the vent from the back of the dryer and try it. Flame rollback will cycle the burner off by the high limit.

Considering what you have already done to it, if the problem still exists you probably have bad coils on the gas valve. make sure you replace them as a set.

The thermal fuse is a one time device. If it opens, the burner will not come on at all.

My Maytag gas dryer, Model No, LDG7500AAW will run but not heat. The igniter glows red, but the gas will not flow. What might be wrong?

Replace the 2 burner coils ,if the igniter keeps cycling trying to start the flame. If it doesn't replace the flame sensor mounted on the side of the burner tube.

I have a Maytag Epic Z. The dryer turns on but with no heat

There are several things that can cause this. 1 st the thermal fuse(white plastic piece with 2 wires attached to it, then the igniter, is it glowing orange when you start the dryer, then the flame sensor located on the side of the burner assembly and finally the gas coils located on the gas valve close to the burner assembly. If the igniter is glowing orange and then going out without ignition change the gas coils, Hope this helps,

How to check the igniter (continuity?)

If there is power to the ignitor and it does not glow the ignitor is bad. If it does glow, place a clamp on amp meter over one wire of the ignitor and turn the circuit on. If the ignitor reads less than 3 amps, replace the ignitor.
If the ignitor glows and registers 3 amps or more you must check the flame sensor for correct operation. If the ignitor and flame sensor are both good, replace the gas valve coils.

No flame

first check that the gas is turned on...then you may have a bad igniter .. if you have a amp meter put it on on wire of the igniter it need to pull 3.3 to 3.6 amps to open the gas valve ... if it does you need a new gas valve...
