Direction of flow air conditioner filter

There are quite a few possible answers to this because you did not specify what type of unit you are asking about: Central Air, Window unit, Stand-alone-upright Unit, etc.
If this is a central-air unit or a unit that uses your furnace blower to circulate air, then in most cases the filter is a square or rectangular shape and is between 1 and 4 inches thick. The "Direction" the air flows through the filter is indicated by a set of arrows printed on the thin edge of the filter - usually with the word "flow" or "Air flow". Insert the filter with the arrow(s) pointing toward the furnace/blower. Another way to determine flow direction is if the filter has a mesh or screen on one side of the filter media. In this case the screen or mesh would go toward the furnace/blower when the filter is inserted.

Can you see the condition of the coil itself? If it is blocked this could be a cause for the frozen coils. Also, check the condition of the blades on the indoor fan. Dirt and dust accumulation on the blades reduces airflow.

We will need a little more info in order to help you.

Is it a heat pump, furnace or A/C?

Although there is a recognized standard for wire colors and where they get hooked to, there is no guarantee that the installer followed the standard. More important would be if you would tell us what terminal letters you have at your thermostat and the type of system that you have.

That it would it easy for us to hlp you.

Hi, sometimes depending if the unit is an up flow or down flow that depends where they put the filter. If you don't have a return grill in the ceiling, then it would be in the bottom of your furnace. I am sure its hard to remove as it is new, but i am sure it is there.Sometimes there is a grill on the lower wall beside the furnace they could have put it in. They may not have installed one? Good Luck, Sincerely, Shastalaker7

Where is the furnace filter located on the York P3CGD12N08001B

Residential furnaces have exterior filter boots supplied by installer, commercial york units have filter access doors. If this is a roof top unit your filters would be in the door to the left of the blower compartment.

Central air conditoner unit doesnt blow cool air into home has some ice on the inlet heat and cooling lines going into the central air unit

Change the furnace filter. Make sure you use a cheap one when air conditioning, as the better ones restrict airflow when they filter out so much stuff and then plug up, not allowing enough air to pass over the cooling coil in the furnace's air plenum. Turn the A/C off for a few hours (with only the furnace fan on if possible) to melt the ice off the cooling unit inside the furnace.
