Question about Dell W4200 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
Turns on, clicks, goes black and becomes completely unresponsive. I have to unplug the TV to turn off. Did you find a solution? Please help!
I had the same problem and I found a shorted 100uF 100V electrolytic capacitor on the lower logic level scan board. This board was located underneath the I/O tuner section on the tv. This shorted capacitor was keeping the 70V "VA" power supply output from starting. There are 8 caps total on the 4 logic level scan boards in the tv so you should replace them all.

So my Dell has had the tuner problem since day one. Wouldn't hold channels in the tuner very long. Now It won't find any other than 2,4, and 5. After several bouts with Dell's offshore customer service who always insisted it was my antenna, I gave up. Now of course, I have a $40 tuner on my analog TV and it gets all the channels without an antenna. Gee Dell, I'll never buy anything from you again. And I tell anyone who will listen the same thing.
My solution is going to be buying a non-Dell replacement.
