Sounds like the drive unit has broken or slipped a belt. Remove the front cover of the machine with screws that are on the rear side of the frame and along the top below the controls, the entire front cabinet will pivot out and away from the frame. You can then see the motor and drive unit and access the problem area. It should be pretty apparent. Hope thias helps.

Hi, I've just done a wash on my Hotpoint WMA35 but it will not do the spin cycle. I hear the usual whirring sound as if the spin is about to start, but it doesn't. I've rearranged the load but still...

Any flashing lights or extra solid lights on the control board? By "spin cycle", do you mean the final spin cycle and drainage of water through waste pipe (basically, I want to know if the washer spins then fails, or fails to begin any rotation of the drum whatsoever). I'm having problems with my WMA35 myself, so it'd be interesting to see if this a common fault.

Hi, My hotpoint wm 25 wont spin? Brushes are fine. Help!

Why no spin?..Is the water fully pumped out, is it out of load balance? This happens when too few items are in the drum the machine senses this and will not spin.......Hope this of some help

Ultimate Care II toploading washer doesn't empty or spin after ag

Hello, I can help.

If your washer doesn't spin or pump water out but the motor is running, your washer probably has a frozen pump pulley. If so, you need to replace the pump. To check the pulley, remove the pump from the washer and try to rotate the pulley manually. If it doesn't turn freely--if it's frozen or stiff--replace it.

Probable your outlet filter is clogged, find this out from your manual, clean and refit. Plug off the wall first. This requires periodic cleaning, according to your usage.

Washer will not spin

normally i would suggest changing motor carbons for hotpoint washers, but my experience is that the WMA motor armature is weaker than the carbons, normally if there is no connection fault a replacement motor is the answer 9 times out of 10, not a job for the amature
