Display lights up but is very hard to read. Also, resistance cannot be changed.

This question was about an exercise bicycle, not a shaver. I am already disappointed in this service!

Hello,

Thanks for contacting Fixya.com

The display lights up but the reason for not being clear is that the shaver is not able to hold the charge for a ling time .

I'm pretty sure that the batteries are part of a sealed unit with the PCB on this model, and after checking the Service Diagram I'm even more convinced.

I would suggest fully charging and discharging (leaving it running without the foil and cutter on) a number of times to see if you can improve the performance, as there may be a memory effect on the battey. The model is only 5 years old so your batteries should have a little more life.

It is a mains/rechargeable shaver though, so you "should" still be able to use it with the lead plugged directly into the shaver. So the shaver may not be a dead loss! : To resolve the issue for resistance just take off the top blade off the slider. Then you will see four screws on the slider, just tighten up each screw. The tighter you want the leveler, the harder you screw, be careful because they are easy to strip....that it. Best of luck. God Bless

Hi there,

It seems that you need to change the battery of your Shaver.
How old is your Shaver?
what is the model number of it?

Thanks

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Need the resistance VS temperature table for the 15-077-8 probe

google it RTD to temp

this will not tell you if probe is reading correctly, display is just converter and calculator, probe is the one that measures and supplies result. If you have 3458A you have access to lab equipment and should ask someone how to calibrate this

There is no change in resistance when programmed at console

Replacement Parts for Fitness Exercise Equipment at SPORTSMITH

This video covers general resistance troubleshooting for the Stairmaster 4400CL, 4600CL, and SC916 Steppers.
Tools Needed: Multi Meter, Jumper Wire
Resistance problems could be either mechanical or electrical in nature.
Mechanical problems are easily identified by noise. If a grinding noise is heard while pedaling, this is an indicator the drive hub assembly is having a problem. If a ratcheting sound is heard while pedaling, this is an indicator of a loose belt or a belt that could be coming off.
Once you've eliminated the possible mechanical causes for resistance problems, then it is time to investigate the electrical system.
The easiest test of the electrical system when investigating a resistance problem is to step onto the pedals and access Diagnostics. This is done by pressing Level ^, 6, ENTER. (DIAGNOSTICS will appear in the upper display window.) Press Level Down twice to get to the alternator test. (ALT TEST will appear in the upper display window.) Press ENTER to begin the test. As the video shows, resistance drops out when the test begins. So, if this occurs, press the Level ^ one time. This will turn the field ON. This verifies that voltage is passing from the display through the display cable to the lower control board. This confirms there is good communication between the console and the lower control board and that the voltage is being supplied to the alternator. If resistance is lost during this portion of the test, inspecting the cable should be the first step of action. Look for bent pins, loose connection or crimped wire.
Other components of the electrical system to inspect for resistance problems are the battery, load resistor, speed sensor and alternator.
We'll discuss the battery first. In order to get a proper reading, testing the battery should be done with the pedals in motion. There are 3 different battery readings a person may encounter. A reading of 6 VDC or greater indicates a good battery. A reading below 6 VDC but higher than 4.8 VDC indicates the battery needs charged for 24 hours. A reading below 4.8 VDC indicates your battery is bad and needs replaced. For more information, watch our battery testing video.
If your battery is good, the next item to check is the speed sensor. The speed sensor should be spaced a business card thickness away from the speed disc. If the speed sensor is spaced properly, the function of the speed sensor can be verified by confirming that proper voltage is present. For more speed sensor troubleshooting, watch our video on speed sensor testing and adjustment.
Next to inspect is the load resistor. Load resistor testing is pretty simple. Load resistors are ohm rated, and you want to verify the proper ohms for the load resistor being tested. Load resistors can cause the resistance to come and go. This means you may pedal a few steps and then the pedals will drop or loose resistance. Then, as the load resistor cools down a bit, you may get resistance again for a few steps. If the resistance goes back and forth like this, the load resistor likely needs replaced. For more information, see our load resistor testing video.
The last electrical component to inspect when investigating a resistance problem is the alternator. The alternator can be easily tested by performing the B+ to Field jumper test. For details on how to perform this test, watch our alternator testing video.

Resitance level on my Horizon Elite 3.2 Elliptical changes without me keying in changes on the console!

If it changes on the console(IE, the numbers change), the buttons are bad. If the display does not change, but the resistance just keeps changing, the internal motor is probably bad. If it is always hard, and stays hard, then I would look at the flywheel.

Must be a bad sensor. These new fangled models use electronics to sense the heat. In the place of a control klixon, they use a thermistor. The thermistor changes in resistance with changes in air temps. The fancy shocktronics upstairs monitors the thermistor for resistance. if it cannot read any resistance it shuts down. Measure the thermistor for resistance if ya cannot get a reading or it is out of spec then replace it. Another thing is the small belt on some of these falls off and the blower stops working. The dryer quickly overheats and shuts down. c89c5b39-d34b-41c4-be20-63c931f4d786.jpgYou can access a service manual by going to appliancejunkgoogledrive and accessing dryer service manual section.

Replaced engine coolant temperature sensor because of check engine light and overheating due to no fan operation. fan came on after change. However, now the temp display on the dash reads minimum...

Make sure that your thermostat is working correctly. Let the engine warn up, not long enough for the vehicle to get into close loop, but to where the hose is warm. At this point the hose should be hard. If it isn't hard you will also hear the water flowing as you squeeze it. Often the thermostat goes into a fail safe mode which is all the way open and with the engine having run hot, this could have caused failure here. If it does't pass this test, it should be taken out and looked at. If it is bad you will see it all the way open...you can always compare it with the new one.

"PROB" shows when fryer is

Computerboard will display "PROB" error when it could not sense resistance reading from the temperature probe sensor (temperature probe sensor is either open circuit or short circuited). Check first the temperature probe connectors, tighten loosely fitted connectors on wiring harness and computer board, then check if the wires are not damaged. Disconnect the temperature probe and check the resistance using an ohm meter. If the reading is either zero or infinite, you have to replace the temp probe.

Lcd display is what seem to be to bright hard to read black info .or the black symbols are very light hard to read with bright orange lighted display thanks Mark

You don't say what device this is on, HOWEVER most thngs have a "contrast" control that will adjust the visibility.

Sometimes they call this a viewing angle control and sometimes it is a small shaft from the back of a unit, OTHER times it is a setting available through a menu... if you can read the display enough to find it...

Display is really light

there's no way to adjust the contrast on the TI-30XA unfortunately. you can try changing the batteries but beyond that, there's not much you can do.
