You can get videos from this camera, or any analogue video source, into a computer, but you need more than just a cable. You have to play them into an analogue video interface port. These are available as expansion slot cards for a desktop PC, or as a USB plug-in interface (which is what you need for a laptop). The interface will come with drivers and probably software to digitise the video input and record it to a file. Lots of third party video editing software will also be able to accept the input from this kind of port. You don't need any "driver" related to the camera, it is just a video signal source. The connecting leads will be standard RCA signal plugs, like the ones you use to connect to a TV or VHS recorder. You probably already have a lead for this.
Hi. Yes, especially since it sounds as if you may still have your Video 8 camera, but if not then get one on eBay etc. - you could always sell it back when finished.
I think you may want to record the movies in another form, e.g. DVD, so they can be played more easily on PC or TV.
If so, a VCR or DVD recorder would still do the job but it would be best to play the movies with the Video 8 camera plugged into a DVD/Hard drive recorder. This would best allow editing before later saving onto DVD from the hard drive.
You could get video capture software to record the movies onto PC but I have not tried this and think it might prove more complicated.

Hi, Its an old camcorder or 1995 or some thing and got leaky electrolytic capacitors problem on its main board that requires replacement. These capacitors are approx 60 to 70 and very difficult to unsold old and sold new capacitor on main board. It does not worth to repair. Thanks.
yeppers sorry to tell ya clare321 but the small capacitors inside the camera portion of the camera sounds like they are starting to leak and break down. This is a very common problem with most camcorders and they still use those pesky pana caps. If your lucky maybe they(the Caps) didnt eat away and distroy the Printed circuit board yet but it will in a matter of time. you should get this into a repair shop asap as this is not a repar for a handyperson.
