2001 audi quattro tt had problem sometime changing gears while driving it would sound like gear box fell out. Wouldn't go back into gear. Kill the engine and restart gears would work. Why?

You need the transmission control module scanned for fault codes. I know the check engine light must be coming on when this happens, correct?

When starting 2.4 2007 a6 triptronic,i sometimes have to move lever in and out of park to get car started only 37000 miles driven. Is this a common problem.

there is a device called a neutral safety switch. it prevents the car from starting in any position accept park or neutral. the switch is most likely defective and will have to be replaced. try starting the car in neutral. this might aleviate the problem of intermittent starting.

Will my triptronic work again after service...in the manuel it states that triptronic will turn off when needing service it will only work in drive

this means the kind of service that is required after a failure of some component, it doesn'r mean after a regular maint service like a fluid change.

have you tried changing the transmission fluid? a new transmission fluid may ease up the shifting. it really trips when you have a fried transmission fluid.
