    Creating Phonebook Entries
To store names and numbers in your Phonebook, please follow these steps:
When the phone is in standby mode, press [phone book icon] (on the left side of the four-way key).
To create a new phonebook entry, press the NEW soft key. Edit Name appears.
Enter the name for this entry (Edit Name).
Use the keypad to enter a name for this entry; the name can contain up to 1 6 characters. (See page 1 1 for instructions on entering text.) If you do not want to enter a name for this entry, your phone will store this entry as No Name. Press the OK soft key when you are finished.
Enter the number for this entry (Edit Number 1).
Once you have stored a name, EDIT NUMBER1 appears next. Use the number keypad, [right] or [left] on the four-way function key, or the DELETE soft key to enter the phone number 1 ; the phone number can contain up to 32 digits. If you need the phone to pause between digits when it?s dialing (for example, to enter an extension or an access code), press [redial/pause] to insert a two-second pause. You will see a P in the display. You can also use more than one pause together if two seconds is not long enough. Each pause counts as one digit. Press the OK soft key when you are finished.
EDIT NUMBER 2 appears next. Use the same procedure when entering the phone number 1 to enter the phone number 2. Press the OK soft key when you are finished.

Assign a personal ring tone for this entry (Personal Ring).
You can attach a personalized ring tone to each phonebook entry; the phone will use this ring tone when this person calls. Move the cursor to highlight one of the 20 different ring tone options. As you highlight each ring tone, you will hear a sample of that tone. When you hear the ring tone you want to use, press the OK soft key. If you do not want to use a personal ring tone for this phonebook entry, select the NO SELECTION option, and the phone will use your standard ring tone setting.
Assign this entry to a Speed Dial number (Speed Dial).
Your phone has 1 0 speed dial numbers, 0 to 9. Move the cursor to select the speed dial number you want to assign to this phonebook entry, and press the OK soft key. Select NO SELECTION if you do not want to assign this entry to a speed dial number. Press the OK soft key.
You will hear a tone confirming that the new phonebook entry has been stored, and DONE! appears in the display.
Note: When the shared memory is full, the oldest Caller ID message is overwritten.

I need to add a number into my phone. I have forgotten the procedure

Since you also forgot to specify the model of your Uniden cordless phone I can only suggest that you select it from the list beginning here to download a copy of the manual and refresh your memory.

I need to know how to take out unwanted phone number and name and program in a new name and phone number. Lost my manual and can't seem to upload yours on my computer.

removing and installing phone numbers isn't hard. Just hold MEM small button down for about 5 seconds then use up or down arrow to arrive at stored number. Then hit select, & follow prompts (edit Memory #, delete Memory #, or go back). The rest you should be able to do.

Uniden DECT 6.0- Where can I get a printable instructional manual

DECT 6.0 isn't a model number, it's the generic name for the cordless technology in use. Uniden's manual download page is here. The phone model number number is on the rear or bottom of the base unit. Pick it from the list and you'll be able to download a replacement manual.

I lost my manual for my uniden 5.8 cordless phones. Can i get another how to manual?

From the picture, it looks like you've got the same model we do. If that's the case, here's the specific link to it's manual from Uniden's site. http://uniden.com/pdf/TRU9480om.pdf
If not, this is the link to all the manuals for their cordless phones. http://uniden.com/index/manuals_results.cfm?cat=1
You can look up your model number on the bottom of the main phone base. The product name and model number is in the top left corner of the sticker, above the bar code.
