Need to replace the screen.. remove screws from bezel.. usually covered with small rubber pads.. carefully prise away the bezel.
remove the small screws on the sides of the screen and angle the screen away from the lid.. disconnect the cable and remove the screen.. look the the sticker on the back for the part number.. something like LTN156A1.. whatever it is, order the exact same part. refit in reverse.

That doesn't include the repair time. For me it would take about 10-15 minutes.
For a novice about 1-2 hours.
That's the jest of it.
New laptops $200-400 for decent rigs.
