Ussually these type of probs are really common. sometimes its becos its synchonyzing itself for the files. or its in charging mode. or the adapter itself needs to be placed properly in order not to move.

SOURCE: computer not picking up the MP3 player

Some of mp3 player when we plug in to computer it requires the driver. But mostly is not so when you encountered your mp3 not recognized by the computer, try to use another USB cable. We don't know if the cable are bad or good, sometimes USB cable work fine and sometimes not. So use another cable.

When mp3 connected with the computer it goes off because that will be acted as usb only and the other funcion will be disabled. Therefore don't worry.

On the intro screen it freezez and eventually goes to the next screen and says refreshing database but it dosent refresh

This seems to happen when the database gets corrupted.

1. Turn off the player.

2. Plug the usb cable to the computer, don't plug it to the player.

3. Slide the lock switch to the right, you will see an orange strip.

4. Hold the menu button to start the player. Don't release it yet. Wait until a shutdown message appears and the player goes off again.

5. Plug the usb cable to the player end. The player should go on again. The player should mount as a disk on your computer. Find this disk and back up its contents.

6. Format the player, as explained elsewhere.

7. Disconnect the usb cable. This time the database should refresh properly. Once this is done, slide the the lock switch to the left and turn off the player.

8. Turn the player back on. It should work, but you will have to load your stuff again.

9. Redo steps 1 to 5, except that now should copy your music, videos, etc, back into the player.

10. Repeat step 7.

11. Turn the player back on. It should work again.

I connect my sansa e250 into my computer and the mp3 player says connected but i see no sansa hardrive and the computer doesnt respond .

Turn Sansa off. Unplug USB and make sure its clean. Plug back in as normal. If no hardrive comes up go to My Computer and look for it and troubleshoot if necessary.

Finally, repeat this action above accept when you turn MP3 off, hold button for 15 seconds - release and then turn back on.

I had a similar problem. Holding the play button does not work to start it, but pressing it repeatedly and quickly turns it on. Might be the same for you?

INOVIX IMP-1112 MP3 crashing my computer.

sounds like bad news - if the flash (update to firmware) failed during update, the item is more than likely dead. Warranty return possible? Can you try another usb device on that same pc? just to verify the usb ports are working properly and supplying proper power to the devices.
