Question about HP PhotoSmart 1215 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

HP 3200 Photsmart Printer will not print properly.

I have installed all new ink cartridges ( I have not had ink for about 2 months, except to print in black) and when I print a plain document there will be no characters on the page. When I print a color document, the colors are ok except where there is black and it will be faded. The text will appear as grayscale. I have tried everything: unplugging the power source, pulling the cartridges out and waiting two minutes, inserting, turning on and trying again, everything looks ok in the printers properties. Any ideas of what I can do?

You can always perform the print nozzle cleaning procedure through your printer's software. If it is new, then the black cartridge has malfunctioned. Take it and your receipt to exchange it for another. I'll bet this is the problem since your color is working OK and your text is grayscale (partially working).

Please follow the steps below to install the Cartridge:

  3. Wait until the print cartridge cradle moves to the center of the printer and is idle and quiet.
  4. If you are replacing a print cartridge, press down on the print cartridge to be replaced, and then slide it out of the print cartridge cradle. If you are installing print cartridges for the first time, go to the next step.

The print heads are not replaceable unless you know what you're doing. Even if you did know what you're doing, you need another bad printer of that series to exchange the print heads. It is easier to just buy a new printer that uses the same 02 ink you're used to, especially if you have a CISS system.

New tri-color cartridge has a problem. I can't see what.

I have an HP Photsmart C4100 printer. I purchased remanufactured ink cartridges (both black and tri-colored) from Vivasmart. The black one works fine, but when I installed the tri-color, I got an error message that says "Print cartridge problem" The following print cartridge has a problem:
Tri-color.
And I can't print. The screen on my printer says "Remove and check color cartridge." I have done this several times and it still won't print. I have turned off the power, removed the cartridges, and unplugged the unit, but it still didn't help. Any suggestions?
