Dell Insp 4600C blinking yellow power light

The unit will not power up, I tried removing and re installing the ram and all I get is a blinking yellow power light and a yellow light on the motherboard.and the keyboard stay lite. The system was stored for about a year unused, could the CMOS batter be the cause of this problem?

Thanks

No power.....light on power button just keeps blinking off and on (yellow)

sounds like a ram problem, though you could try to reset bios, to do this unhook power and open case and remove cmos battery and short out the two battery conections for 6 seconds, then reboot, if still not good sounds like ram has blown, remove some of the ram and see if it boots first

Dell 4700 desktop, will not boot up. Light remains

A solid Amber power LED is an indication of a motherboard problem. Remove any external connections and see if LED indications change. If no change, remove all PCI expansion cards, try again. If still no go, disconnect all drives, try again. If still no change, ensure the CPU heatsink is firmly attached (If loose you need to replace the retention module) If nothing loose and no changes from other steps, replace motherboard

I have a dell 4600c When i turn it on it powersup but no video

unplug your computer
Open the computer case up, reseat the memory by removing it and putting in one ,and starting the system, and check all power cables are connected. Do this to each memeory module that you have to test your memory.
IF that doesn't work remove , memory, hard drive cd/dvd drive, and printer etc.turn system on and if it does not beep then the motherboard is bad. The motherboad should beep to indicate that their is no memory. No beep equal no response from the motherboard. hope that helps.

I have a dimension 4600c. installed a new power

The power supplies have extra connectors which are not used.

Try doing a system restore to an earlier date when your computer was working ok.

Restart your computer and hit F8 while it is booting. When the menu comes up, select "Last Known Configuration"

This will bring it back to a time when it was working.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Sounds like the power supply is faulting. If not it is your mother board that has failed.
