Hi,

when the unit is power up

the unit is set to receive stations transmitting at the same frequency,

if you cant hear anything watch the meter it shows the relative signal strength of the transmitting stations. you cannot hear anything if there is no antenna connected to the radio.

if you can hear and you can transmit then it would just be the light you are missing.

hope this helps, thanks for using Fixya!

I have a galaxy DX2547. When i flip the power switch it fires up briefly then shuts back down? Do you think it could be a bad cord bad power button or something worse?

you will need a volt meter to check the power supply coming into the radio. As you turn it on wiggle the power cord to see if the power is restored . .if it is then you may need a new cord. Look in back and make sure its operating on the correct power . AC/DC Remove the mic and connect your meter to the power pin and the other end inside the coax connector. make sure the meter is set on ohms /sound. If it beeps ,thats good . now go to the site where the power cord comes into the radio and make sure your radio is unplugged.Do not connect the meter if it is connected to the power outlet. Now with your meter ,touch the neg and positive to see if there is connectivity, then check the point where they connect to the pcb board. It could all come to the fact that you may need a new capacitor or something of the sort . the further you dig into the radio you will need a schematic to check the power ratings. If you are going to do this yourself this is all done with a process of elimination. You have to start at point A and work to point Z . When you are done with this elimination you should know this radio inside and outside. Good luck.

I recieved a used Benwin S70 3D system & I have the power cord & speaker cords ..Its missing the input L R cord & the owners manual so I dont know what kind of cord belongs there or how to...

Good morning misstcomer ,

If they are standard connections , you will find all you need in any Radio Shack or similar shop .
If they are of a specific type , you will need to find a recognized Benwin retailer . You can find one by Googleling Benwin .

Best regards ,
fanaudi .

Can't seem to tune many stations at all. Also once a station is tunned it "slips".

The antenna works with the power cord. Try extending the length of its power cord with an extension cord.
Position of the radio in the room, the furniture in the room and your position in relation to the radio all affect its reception.
If there is a place to connect an external antenna, this will be helpful. Check with Radio shack and best buy for a FM loop antenna. Usually the wire is flat.
An inexpensive antenna for FM only is also a cheap alternative

Am fm reception bad

FM reception is weak

What to do

• Extend the power cord as much as possible. The FM antenna is in the power cord.

• Move the power cord to adjust the FM antenna

• If you still have problems with FM reception, you may need an external antenna.

* Call Bose®Customer Service to request one.

The external antenna on your radio is a coax (round) design It needs an adaptor and an antenna which are cheap.

Easy to make, radio shack "F" connector 90 degrees or straight, to 300 ohm wire connections. Attatch a 300 ohm flat ribbon antenna cable to those two screws and plug into radio and see how your reception is. You will need to position the antenna wires to get best reception. I have hid them in back of paintings and so on.

Cheapest solution next to putting an extension cord on radio power cord.

The Radio always goes back to 9 all the time with out turning the truck off just all of a sudden it will go to nine, also i have to hold the mic with tension on the cord or it just gets right statticy,...

Sounds like you have a loose connection to power. Check your ground. It is probably loosing power and restarting on 9.

Its definitely that if it is the same power cord you are using.

Also, there could be a problem with the mic cord or jack.

Replacing radio power mast on 2002 toyota 4runner

Sometimes you can put the new antenna cord in the motor, even with the old piece in there, and not have a problem. But, if it makes noise, the fender well needs to be pulled back, and the antenna motor removed enough to pull the back plate off,and remove the rest of the plastic cord. I have done MANY MANY of these. Its easy, some plastic clips, 1 10mm bolt, and some phillips screws.

No power

Either the power cord is bad or the connections to the power jack inside the radio are disconnected or broken. Easiest thing is to try a new power cord, if it doesn't help have a radio tech check out the unit. This should be a very inexpensive repair, usually under $20.
