The main types of computer are supercomputers, mainframes, personal computers, laptops, netbooks, tablets and smartphones. Each have different purposes and capabilities.

Supercomputers have huge data storage capacities and unrivaled processing power. They are used by large organizations that require immense computing power. These computers are exceptionally expensive and very delicate. Housed in clean rooms, supercomputers must be kept free of dust and debris, and have to be constantly cooled because of the heat they generate.
Mainframe computers have considerably less power and capacity than supercomputers, but significantly more than personal computers. They are capable of processing billions of instructions per second and handle vast quantities of data simultaneously.
Personal computers are common in homes and offices throughout the world. Modern models have large storage capacities and run multiple applications simultaneously.
Modern laptops feature similar specifications to desktop computers, with the added bonus of being portable. However, laptops can feel heavy and battery life can be an issue if needing to work for long periods without being able to recharge.
Netbooks are smaller and lighter than laptops, but have considerably less storage capacity and power. However, their small size and minimal weight makes them attractive for browsing the web, checking emails and creating documents when not in the office.
Tablets and smartphones are similar in nature and operate on a touchscreen basis. They are user-friendly, lightweight and very convenient, being popular with people of all ages and backgrounds.

Acer eRecovery management Restore system to factor default but I don't know the password

Locate and Unhide Hidden Rescue Partition
  • 1 Access the Diskpart command prompt. Acer stores custom eRecovery passwords on your computer in PQService, a hidden rescue partition. Locating this partition requires accessing the Diskpart utility from the command prompt. Diskpart allows you to run a scan on your hard drive and bring up hidden partitions. To access Diskpart, go to Start and type "cmd" in the search bar to bring up the black command prompt box, and then type "diskpart" at the prompt to switch to a Diskpart prompt. Depending on your computer, a new command prompt may open with the Diskpart prompt.
  • 2 Scan your computer configuration. At the Diskpart prompt, type "rescan" to run a system configuration check. When the scan finishes, you will receive a message informing you the scan is complete. At the command prompt, type "list disks" to bring up available disks and then type "select disk 0."
  • 3 Locate the hidden partition. At the command prompt, type "list partition" to view a list of partitions on your disk. Locate the partition with no name and a size of approximately 10GB. At the command prompt, type "select partition (number)."
  • 4 Determine the partition type and unhide the partition. The hidden PQService partition will be either a type 27 or a type 12 partition. If the partition is type 27, unhide it by typing "set id=07 override," and if a type 12, then unhide it by typing "set id=0B" at the command prompt.
  • 5 View the PQService partition. Return to the disk containing PQService by typing "select disk 0" at the command prompt, and then type "list volume" to view the contents of the disk. PQService will be visible in the list, preceded by a number. Type "select volume (number)" and then assign PQService a new drive letter so you will be able to open and view it from your computer interface window. At the command prompt, type "assign letter=f."
Reset eRecovery Password
  • 1 Open PQService. Navigate to the drive containing PQService. Find the file "aimdrs.dat." Right-click on the file and select "Open with" and then "Textpad," "Notepad" or another text editor you prefer.
  • 2 Open the file and find the password. Open the file with your text editor and locate the eRecovery password. Look for a line that reads, "Password=password name," "Hint=the password hint." Write down the password and close the file.
  • 3 Open eRecovery using the recovered password and follow the instructions to create a new password.

How to Reset an Password for Acer eRecovery

Acer eRecovery is a vendor-specific method you can use to restore your computer to its original factory settings, or to custom settings you create and store on your hard drive or other removable media. eRecovery also contains a back-up utility you can use to back up data to your hard drive or other removable media. Access to eRecovery requires you to use the default "000000"password or one you select. While it is important to store a custom password in a safe location, if you lose or forget it, there are steps you can take to reset your Acer eRecovery password.
Access the Diskpart command prompt. Acer stores custom eRecovery passwords on your computer in PQService, a hidden rescue partition. Locating this partition requires accessing the Diskpart utility from the command prompt. Diskpart allows you to run a scan on your hard drive and bring up hidden partitions.

Step 3. Locate the hidden partition. At the command prompt, type "list partition" to view a list of partitions on your disk. Locate the partition with no name and a size of approximately 10 GB. At the command prompt, type "select partition (number)."
Step 4. Determine the partition type and unhide the partition. The hidden PQService partition will be either a type 27 or a type 12 partition. If the partition is type 27, unhide it by typing "set id=07 override," and if a type 12, then unhide it by typing "set id=0B" at the command prompt.
Step 5. View PQService partition.
Step 1. Open PQService. Navigate to the drive containing PQService. If you are using Windows XP, use My Computer; if you are using windows Vista, use Computer. Find the file "aimdrs.dat." Right click on the file and select "Open with" and then "Textpad," "Notepad," or whatever text editor you prefer.
Step 2. Open file and find password. Open the file with your text editor and locate the eRecovery password. Look for a line that reads, "Password=password name," "Hint=the password hint." Write down the password and close the file.
Step 3. Open eRecovery using the recovered password and follow instructions to create a new password.

Plug the flash drive in your computer.
Then go to the Cmd Prompt, RunAs Administrator,

Then type Diskpart >
To list all the available Disks, type List Disks. You will see all the drives listed with a number ID. So the flashdrive might be Disk 3, or whatever.

Now type Select Disk # (whatever the flashdrive # is)

Now type Attributes clear readonly.

Now type Exit, to leave the diskpart applet

That should do it.

How do i find information about my address and port?

im guessing here you mean your ip addess and open ports on your computer right ??

ok firstly your computer uses 3 ip address
  1. loop back ,, 127.0.0.1 (slandered) for all computers , this is used for internal progressing and phrasing.
  2. a local ip address ,,This ip vaires what it is basically is the ip address given to your computer by your router ,, its the address that the router recgonises as your computer , so different computers connected to the same router have differect local address.. it usually starts with 192.168.XXX.XXX or 10.0.X.X
  3. Foreign / Internet Ip address, no matter what type of router this address varies for each router!!!!!. lets say you have 7 computer on the same router , each will have the same foreign address but different local address's.
PORTS !!!
will ports are used for different things for example web surfing is port 80, ftp is 21, different software uses cretin ports to allow computers to different machines over the internet or other network to interface with them directly..

Hope i explained all that simply,, well here is how you get the info u need..in all Operating systems the process is a bit different here i will outline 2 ways each,, for XP and for win vista / win 7.. ok lets get started..

XP..

to determine local ip address,,
  • click start , control panel
  • network / internet connections / network connections
  • double click on local area connection or what ever name u see..
  • click support,, there you go see your ip.. click details for more info
alternate method
  • double click on the network connection icon to the buttom right of your screen.. follow last step above

  • click start then run
  • type cmd and hit enter
  • type ipconfig /all and hit enter
that will list all the info about your connection for you..

ok ports in win XP

click start then run,, type cmd and hit enter
type netstat - n

that will list all ports / ip address that they are connection too..
the ports that you see are the open ports.. there is an alternat method to see it in the windows firewall setting but i did not list it since its most incomplete,, background processes dont show up there ,, like a virus..

skip to foreign address !!! BELOW

ok vista...or windows 7

start control panel
network
manage network connection / view or edit network connections
double click on local area network click support if necessary ,, you will see your ip address there (LOCAL)

  • OR ,, click start, in the run box type cmd and hit enter
  • type ipconfig /all hit enter
  • that will list your local address among other things..
PORTS ,, VISTA / WIN 7
click start
in the run box type cmd and hit enter
type netstat -n and hit enter,,
this will list all open ports and the ip address that they are connected to..

FOREIGN ADDRESS
this is easy.. go to http://www.whatismyip.com the address that shows up is your foreign address..

well I hope thats a Fixya, or at least a very helpful after all that typing it would be sad if i didnt answer your question or was wrong abou what you wanted to know.. good luck and let me know if you need any more help..

What OS what Model computer?
Type in your browser (i.e. Google) the computer manufactures name such as Fujitsu, Dell, Sony or whatever it is followed by Support this will list the manufactures driver download sites click on the driver download link once on the driver link type in the required information.
Normally you can just type in a service tag which can be found on a sticker on your computer the site will then list all the drivers for that computer, download the appropriate audio driver and and run it and you should have no further problems with the audio.
