Where are the safety switches located?

Thanks so much for the help with my mower. Got another issue now. Could you possibly tell me where the safety switches are.? I know one is under the seat, but where might the other 2 be? Thanks again, I sooooo appreciate it.

One on the cutting deck or engagment lever, one on the clutch. some have one in the transaxle as well. start in neutral only.the deck sensor tell the mower if the blade is in or out of gear, the one on the clutch is for starting.

Husqy cth2542 starts and can move both in forward and reverse and seems to rev fine, but as soon as the blade is engaged) the engine looses power and turns off if the blades are not disengaged.

It sounds like a safety switch issue. It may be possible one of the deck PTO safety switches has gone out or the connector plug is loose or broken. Some newer mowers have fuses located either somewhere around the dash or under the seat check to see if there are fuses and if one is bad it could cause a similar problem to a bad or disconnected safety switch

Looking for repair manual or help with problem

ok,there are 3 safety switches,(i have the same mower,i bought for 50 bucks because they couldnt start it),a seat switch in case you fall off,a brake/clutch switch,so you have to step on it to start and a deck switch,so if your deck is engaged,it wont start,if you can guarantee that you wont fall off or screw around and get your foot cut off,i will tell you how to bypass the safety switches,
pull the cover off the motor, see the single small black wire connected to the coil?not the spark plug cable, pull that wire off of the coil, now, find a switch that you can use for a shut off, connect a wire to the coil and run it to your dash, connect another wire to ground, connect each of them to either side of the switch, you will use that to stop the motor, put the cover back on,sit in seat, push in clutch and start your careful, there are no safety switches now, dont go up a hill sideways you will get killed if it rolls on you.

Cub Cadet i1045 turns over but won't start. New plug, fuel pump. Is it a safety switch? how can I tell?

I hate these new machines with all the safety stuff.

I bet there is at least the safety switch under the seat. If you jump those two wires together, that will bypass the possibly faulty switch and fake out the machine into thinking you are sitting on the seat. make sure the blade engagement lever is fully in the no run position. Now check for spark

Hi gedallyn,
You mentioned that every time you gear forward or reverse the Mower's motor will just die.
I believe that you will need to check your gears and the also check to see the if the system is Running low in Fuel or possibly having a clog in the fuel line that can cause the machine to stop.
But still the issue is when you get it to gear forward or reverse, you may wanna check the gears first since that is the closes to your concern.
You can also check online at Toro for a user guide and info regarding you issue with this Link
I hope this help.
Have a nice day,
