What brand is the Truck cap? but yes generally if there are no screws in the lens front or back then there is usually a very small slot someplace on the edge of the lens you should be able to fit a small flat blade screw driver into and pop the lens. If the lens is surrounded by a rubber gasket on the outside the gasket usually has to be pried back before the lens comes out

Testimonial: "Tired it but afraid I'm going to crack the lens. Thanks I'll come up with something. Thanks"

How do you remove rear brake light lens?

most of the time, there is an access area inside the vehicle behind the housing. There may be screws or clips holding the trim/cover in place. Removing that should give you access to replace a bulb or to the nuts that are holding the light assembly to the vehicle.

How do I change a tail light/brake bulb on a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado? How do I get the drivers side lens off? I have removed all the screws I can see but it still won't come off?

On back of the truck in the bed wall are 2 or 3 bolts to take out and the whole lens will come out.
You can then access the light bulbs. Good luck.

How do I get to the brake bulbs to change them? On a 1990 GMC siera 1/2 ton pickup. There is no screws to remove the lens.

There are 2 screws holding the tail lamp assembly to the bed. Open your tail gate and you will see them. Once the 2 screws are removed, there are 2 clips that hold the outer part of the lamp assembly. Pull rearward FIRMLY to disengage the clips. Be careful not to twist sideways or you will break the clips/pins. After the lamp assembly is disengaged from the bed, you will see thecircuit board in the back of it. Remove the 2 screws in the circuit board and remove it to get to the bulbs.

NOTE: Circuit board failures are VERT COMMON on these vehicles. If replacing the bulb does not get your lights working, chances are pretty good that you will have to replace the circuit board. (See pictures below.)

How do you replace brake lamp? Thank you.

Hello,

To replace the brake lamp of Your volkswagen beetle 2001 model is relatively simple. Please follow the steps below:
  1. To remove the lens and gain access to the bulbs You first need to release the lens holder from inside the trunk by completely unscrewing the large plastic wing nut that is under a round plastic panel that's located almost directly behind the rear brake light lens.
  2. To gain access to the plastic wing nut remove the round panel by gently prying it off.
  3. After this is done You release the lens by using something flat like a dinner table knife to pry and release the clip that holds the lens in place.
  4. Locating the clip: The rear fender has two seams that end at the light lens, the inboard seam (the one closest to the hatch)is where you want to insert the table knife to pry the metal clip that holds the lens in place.
  5. Gently and carefully insert the knife blade directly at the seam and pry upward to release the lens.
  6. Once the clip releases pull the lens the rest of the way and remove the bulbs by turning the bulb holder sockets counter-clockwise.
  7. After this is done remove bulbs by slightly pushing down on the bulb and turning it counter-clockwise.
  8. The reinstall is reverse of the removal the procedure.
  9. When re-installing take care to clock the lens where the metal clip and the lens protrusions end up in the same position as before.
  10. You may need to assist sliding the lens retaining clip in with the knife when reinstalling.
Hope this helped. Thank You for using FixYa!!!

Change brake light bulb on a 2000 Nissan Frontier

The entire bed line will need to be removed. The long screws that hold the metal bracet where the bed extender attaches also hold the tail light assembly in place.
I pulled the bed liner up at a 45 degree angle and layed it on top of the cab. This revealed the screws. Take both screws out and lay to the side along with the metal bracket for the bed extender.
Now firmly grab the edges of the tail light assembly and pull...there are 2 hard rubber nipples that snap in to hold the assembly. You will feel like you might break it but you won't..just pull straight back hard. The assembly will "POP" out and then you can just twist the back of each bulb there are (3) and pull out..now you will see the bulbs..just pull the bad bulb straight out and push the new one into place. Now just reassemble. Total time will be 30-45 min. for this repair.

How to replace passenger side brake light bulb

The process for changing the tail light bulbs for a 2003 New Beetle TDI is relatively simple.

To remove the lens and gain access to the bulbs you first need to release the lens holder from inside the trunk by completely unscrewing the large plastic wing nut that is under a round plastic panel that's located almost directly behind the rear brake light lens.

To gain access to the plastic wing nut remove the round panel by gently prying it off. After this is done you release the lens by using something flat like screwdriver to pry and release the clip that holds the lens in place. Locating the clip: The rear fender has two seams that end at the light lens, the inboard seam (the one closest to the hatch)is where you want to insert the table knife to pry the metal clip that holds the lens in place.

Gently and carefully insert the flathead screwdriver directly at the seam and pry upward to release the lens. Once the clip releases pull the lens the rest of the way and remove the bulbs by turning the bulb holder sockets counter-clockwise. After this is done remove bulbs by slightly pushing down on the bulb and turning it counter-clockwise.

To reinstall is reverse of the removal the procedure. When re-installing take care to clock the lens where the metal clip and the lens protrusions end up in the same position as before. Note: you may need to assist sliding the lens retaining clip in with the screwdriver when reinstalling!
