Question about Hitachi 42EDT41 42 in. HD-Ready Plasma Television
I have a problem with a 2" black line running vertically on my 42" Hitachi plasma tv screen. When searching through this forum, it appears this is a common problem that can be fixed. However, I've spoken to a repair man that said the black line is is the plasma tube and cannot be replaced. Their advice was to purchase a new tv.
Hi all .ive had the same problem,a thick black line down screen.sometimes it flickers from top to bottom and other permantly in view.but i have solved it.forget your ic boards and taking apart tv.have you got either a ps3 or wii connected to tv.if so unplug power lead from socket and relocate in seperate socket.make sure the lead is completely free of any other leads and you might just find this works.i think the power lead creates some sort of frequency that the tv picks up .good luck hope it works
