from what i can tell, yes and no. if you're using larger line then you can use a non-offset eye. but for smaller line the eye of offset as per the manual instructions which are still pretty vague
I have a Zebco 33 reel. No one on this site can tell me how to get the front cover off. The only way
i know to get it off, is by putting it in my 20 ton press and crushing it. Who ever designed this reel should be shot. If the reel jams on the boat, just throw it in the water. It is not user friendly.
Your reel has pickup pins on the spool that will guide the line onto the spool when you reel in.
Try holding gentle tension on the slack line just above your reel and start reeling in. If this does not work then remove the top cover of the reel and look to see if the line is tangled up on the inside around the center shaft underneath the pickup pin cover.
if this is the case, simply unscrew the pickup pin cover from the center shaft. It will be on the tight. Remove the tangled line and reassemble.
