i took tons of photos, and only 5 will show up and then the screen is blank, i see each photo numbered and it looks like it is still on card, but it won't show up on ca,mera or if i place card in reader either

Try using a different type of card reader such as an adapter that connects though a USB instead of an onboard multifuction card reader biult into most new PCs and laptops. I had the same problem with the onboard reader not recognizing the card.
