SOURCE: outside temperature won't work

Please check the following website for all the info and faq.

http://skyscan.info/content/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=35&Itemid=40

Also,

If you have lost the outside temperature on the clock display after replacing the transmitter battery then do the following:

1. Make sure you have good batteries installed in the remote transmitter
2. Remove the batteries from the main clock and keep them out until the clock display disappers.
3. Re-install the batteries in the clock.
4. Wait until the display returns and includes the outside temperature display as well.
5. Set the clock again for current time/date etc.
6. Bingo. You are in business.

SOURCE: Bose link AL8 connection problems

I had a similar problem, though intermittent, using my 48 with the AL8 and room-mate speakers. I kept getting a "no signal received from media centre" message on the remote in the second room.

Assuming that the batteries are ok and you don't have a hardware problem, the problem might be that the 48 is not picking up the signal from your remote control in your second room. The signal from your remote control is a radio signal that goes directly to the 48 - it doesn't communicate via the AL8 receiver. I think the orange light will only turn green once a signal is being transmitted from the transmitter unit plugged into your 48 media centre, and this won't start transmitting until the media centre gets a signal from the remote telling it to switch on.

The aerial for all the remote controls is contained in the power cable that links the 48 lifestyle unit to your VS-2 unit. Make sure that this is uncoiled and oriented vertically, as far away from other cables as possible.

If this doesn't work, you can get an antenna extender that plugs into the RC socket on the back of the lifestyle system. Again, orient this vertically. You can get these from Bose.

Is there anything in the wall that might be blocking the radio signal? Lots of metalwork for example?

If orienting the power cable from the VS-2 doesn't do the trick, I suggest that you go to a local Bose shop. (An actual Bose shop, not just an electrical or hifi store stocking Bose products). I explained my problem and the tech guy gave me an extender gratis (its basically just an FM aerial wire by the look of it). I installed it this morning and, so far, its seems to be working ok. As my unit is fairly new, he also offered to have the kit back in the shop to check it all out and, if that didn't work gave me Bose technical support number. He even offered, if all else failed, to send a guy out to my home to get it working - and I didn't even buy it from there!

Hope this helps.

SOURCE: remote control not working (no functions),

Do the contacts look ok?

you can check if it is working by looking at it with a digital camera
press a button on the remote
if it shows as flashing on the digital camera screen, then you know it is transmitting.
then your problem would be either the device you are trying to operate is not receiving, or the remote is using the wrong code.

if the code is wrong then look it up online. there are some helpful sites that tell you the codes and how to program the remote.

good luck!

SOURCE: Vtech Kidizoom camera. Have changed batteries but

Don't use rechargeable batteries. Use Alkaline batteries. Rechargeables run at 1.2Volts each. Regular batteries run 1.5V. The camera wants 6V. Using rechargeables, you're shorting the camera by .8Volts. It wont turn on because it thinks the batteries are low and is protecting the pictures in memory. Use regular batteries, you'll be ok and your kid will love you again.

SOURCE: A/C won't kick on w/

Hi,
Okay it seems that for some reason the battery change scrambled the brain of the t-stat... that happens...
To fix it you will now have to go into the "Installer Menu" and reset the paramenters of the t-stat.
If you have the Installe brochure then you can look in there and then set the tistat for "heat/cool" and also to "auto fan" and then to "auto changeover" These should get you back to cooling again...
No big problem, just a small programming issue...be patient and if you do not have you book don't worry... you can look it up here...this tip tells you where and how to find any of the Honeywell t-stat manuals.

I have a DESA model SL-6166-RX-A doorbell relay system. It stopped working. I changed the batteries in the transmitter unit, but it still does not work. What else could I do?

You could use rf signal meter to check transmitter signal. I just use a unit that flashes led s when it gets a signal. Otherwise you are better off to replace it.

Changed the batteries in both the transmitter and weather station. It doesn't show temperature on the transmitter or show temperature and humidity on weather station

In some of these weather stations, you have to install the batteries in the transmitter first and then the weather station within a certain time limit. Also, the weather station must be within a specified distance from the transmitter when replacing the batteries.

If you look on the weather station, there should be a make and model number. If you have that, you can visit the website (if there is one) and download an instruction booklet for your model.

Can't get outside temp on my atomic clock

If you still have the instructions read up on pairing the transmitter to the clock. You'll need to do that every time you change batteries on the outside transmitter. If you don't have those instructions , go to the clock's web page to get the manual for your model of clock.

There is no signal from the outside sensor for wind, temperature etc. New batteries made no difference.

I had the same issue. I ended up actually cutting the enclosure off to look inside. (I figured "It's not working anyway, what do I have to lose.") A good number of the conductors on the printed circuit board were corroded to the point that they were gone. Some components were literally falling off the board.

I am pretty good with a soldering iron but after looking at the damage, I threw the transmitter away.

Sony wireless headphones have static...why?

The static you're experiencing with your Sony wireless headphones can be caused by various factors, including interference from other electronic devices, radio frequency congestion, and distance from the transmitter. Here are some things you can try to minimize the static: Move the transmitter closer to your headphones: The closer your headphones are to the transmitter, the stronger the signal will be and the less static you will hear. Reduce interference: Try turning off any other electronic devices that may be causing interference, such as microwaves, wireless routers, and cordless phones. If possible, move the transmitter away from these devices. Change channels: Some wireless headphones have multiple channels to choose from. Try changing the channel to see if that reduces the static. Check the batteries: Make sure the batteries in your headphones are fully charged or replaced if necessary. Reset the headphones: Sometimes resetting the headphones can help eliminate static. Refer to the user manual for instructions on how to reset your specific model. Contact Sony customer support: If none of these solutions work, you may want to contact Sony customer support for further assistance or consider getting a replacement if your headphones are still under warranty.

I need to buy a new outside transmitter for the sio/scan model 81690. Where would I find one.

URGH. Have a Sio/Scan Equity 81690 automic clock weather station, which I really like. Problem is the remote transmitter. Searched many times, can't find a replacement. The cosmetics of the remote transmitter isn't important to me, as long as it functions. Any ideas? Mike

The outside temp sender won't work. We put new batteries in it, but it does not send a signal. It will not put an outside temp on the clock.

Simple, the instructions state that when changing the batteries on the outside temp. sensor, you must also change the batteries on the main clock unit. I had same problem when I changed the sensor batteries until I pulled the batteries from the clock and it reset fine. ( Sensor batteries first, then clock batteries. ) The clock will reset to atomic time overnight so don't worry if it doesn't read correctly at first.
