Question about Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W50 Digital Camera
My DSC-W55 was banged into a metal door and has damaged the internal screen on the moniter.
When switched on the display is purple with line. You can almost see the cracks of the screen.
I was wondering, if the camera can be fixed or is it repairable?
If you want to repair it yourself there is a guy in South Carolina who has lots of parts for all the Sony Cameras. I bought my LCD from him for $39.00 plus shipping and it works perfect. I put it in myself and saved a ton. If you buy the part from him he sends you pictures of him taking the camera apart so that you can repeat the process when you install it. I think his email is firstname.lastname@example.org

Do you still have the camera? I have a camera that is broken but has a good screen. Would you want to part with the camera?

It should be repairable. Most small consumer products like that are repaired by Sony though as they do not release parts for them to repair centers.
Try checking their website and see what they have for a repair service.
Or a different approach would be to see if you can find a 'broken' unit online and just salvage the screen.
