No. I left mine on for almost 6 months one time. check your A/V cables. switch to composite cables if you don't alraedy have them. NEVER USE HDMI CORDS! they **** and most of the time cause the ps3 to freeze up. You could also try flipping the switch in the back to off, hold the power button down on the front, flip the switch in the back and keep holding the power button until the 3rd beep, after it turns itself off, turn on normally and you should be fixed. (doing this puts you in default video settings, which is A/V cables, so you'll need to change your video setings to whatever wires you are using)
