I found this. Your heated mirror also works off that relay. You can do ohms test on the grid, if the grid is open, no continuity. The auto store should sell a product to paint over the open spot to restore continuity, if you can find the open spot.
Not trying to cause trouble, just killing time. Have a good day.

The rear window defogger system consist of the following components:
?€¢
HVAC control assembly

?€¢
Body control module (BCM)

?€¢
Rear Defog relay

?€¢
Rear window defogger grid

  • Jeff Armer Oct 24, 2016

The BCM powers the control side of the relay , that's why you hear it clicking . Plus that also turns on the light . Fuse 21 has nothing to do with that part of it . The thing to do is check for voltage at Fuse # 21 , is there any ? Fuse # 41 a 60 amp one in the under hood fuse box , supplies power to fuse #21 ! Check that ! We test with a DVOM - digital volt ohm meter . Don't guess test !

That fuse might just be for the grid and that is why the light and relay still work.

Testing the grid would tell me if i have a break, and because the light is working can i assume that if a grid is out that is my problem? If the grid is fine what should be my next step?

you need to make sure the wires are on the glass on each side and there is no broken wires in the glass there is a repair kit at a auto store to fix if you have a volt meter test it and that way you can find the problem look for breaks in the wire in the glass and do not for get the wires on each side of the glass.

SOURCE: Rear Wheel Bearing Repair; 2005 pontiac aztek

Remove the brake caliper
Remove the disc, (rotor)
Remove the 34mm nut on the axel shaft
Remove the three (3) bolts from the back side
You will need a wheel puller (three jaw will work well)
Place the puller over the hub and tighten, this will push the shaft out of the hub. Now you have to pull the hub assy. out of the mounting bracket. I found hitting each side,of the hub with a lead hammer to work well. Don't forget to disconnect the ABS senser on the back side of the hub assy.
Do not over tighten the 34mm axel nut when you install the new assy. If you use an impact whrench on it you will damage the bearing.

SOURCE: rear window defroster pontiac sunfire

those can be tricky to solve. get in the back of the car and look for a connector on the window. some times for some reason they let go. if it has let go then visit you auto store and ask for a fix there are a few products that are cheap. if it has not let go then if you know how to use a multi meter check for voltage on the connector/s if theres voltage then there is a break in the defroster somwhere

Cluster is pretty much non serviceable. It's a circuit board problem that will have to be fixed by a cluster repair shop.

NO REAR WINDOW DEFROST

First thing to do is test these fuses with a tester light. Check the A/C cruise control fuse 10 amp (left side of dash in panel), heated mirror fuse 10 amp (right side of dash in panel), this is also where you will find the circuit breaker and relay for the rear defroster. Test the breaker for power in and out. Feel the relay to see if it clicks when you turn on the rear defrost

2005 honda accord. rear defrost not working. fuse and relay good. when touching fuse with test light ,relay clicks, test light does not light up

A common mistake is that when someone hears the relay click that it is good. The tips inside the relay can pit or break off but it still makes the clicking noise. I would check the wires really good and check voltage in and going out, The relay is probably bad or you may have a carroded wire.
