Thanks for the quick response. I dont understand what you're suggeting as the solution, are you telling me to replace the thermostat unit in the dishwasher? The water get very hot when it's operating and seems to be ok during the other wash cycles. If this is the fix please elaborate. Thanks!

Hi there,

If your dishwashers heat the wash and/or rinse water to a higher temperature, as the cycle calls for it. In these cycles, the dishwasher pauses after it has filled with water, waiting for the water to reach the pre-set temperature.
The cycle can't continue until the water reaches the higher temperature. If you have this type of dishwasher and the water isn't being heated (say, because of a problem with the heating element or thermostat), after the unit stops at the heating cycle, it never continues. When you repair the heating-system problem, the "cycle problem" is fixed too.

Also check the Timer -
Timers don't often fail. But if every other part of the dishwasher seems to be working properly and the timer knob seems to be stuck in one place--doing one function continuously--the timer may be at fault. Dishwasher timers can't be repaired. If yours is defective, replace it.

Good Luck!!

Post furtehr comments for more help..

Thanks

Dishwasher drains but leaves behind about 1/2" of standing water

Water standing in the bottom of the tub is normal.
A small amount of clean water around the outlet on the tub bottom at the back of the tub keeps the water seal lubricated.

Water not draining completely from Dishwasher tub

That usually happens because of a faulty water level sensor, check it out.

GE Nautilus won't drain after Rinse Cycle

Check disposer plug. If a garbage disposer has been recently installed, it is possible the disposer drain plug was not removed. The drain plug is a plastic piece in the disposer that blocks the hole where the dishwasher hose connects. Also check the hose connected to the disposal. Mine apparently had a kink in it. When I straightened the hose the dishwasher drained at full speed (I recently had a plumber re-route a hot waterline. He must has bent the hose). Hope this helps. If not go to the GE website. That's where I found my answer.

Ge nautilus dishwasher

Check inlet valves as if you have 2, it may fill using 2 inlets (hot & cold) but only rinse on using 1 ((cold only). So if the cold inlet is faulty, then you will only notice on the rinse. If thats not it then chances are it is the controller unit. regards
