Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook
I have been stuck in this situation before, but usually for a customers computer.
Its actually quite simple after you do it the first time sucessfully.
#1 Download this file(Don't worry, I scanned for viruses, they are clean)
#2 Burn it to CD. If you dont have nero or some other ISO burner, here is one for free:
Install the program and then burn the ISO to CD.
Fire up your laptop with the burned CD in your CD drive.
Follow these instructions if you cant figure it out on your own.
It may look very complicated, but mostly all you need to do is press ENTER, Y(for yes), and 1(as in choice 1).
I actually just guessed the first time without reading the instructions, and I got it without any problems.
One thing I should point out that is very important is that when you are done erasing the password, you will need to save the changes(this is done by pressing 'y' towards the end of the program).
Let me know if you are having problems with this. Hope it helps.
