Question about Dryers
I connected my Maytag gas dryer following a move. I turned on the gas and then the dryer. The dryer ran, but didn't heat up. After smelling gas I turned the gas and the dryer off. Called for repair person, but thery won't be here until Wed. Any ideas on how I can solve?
Make sure the vent is not blocked. Run the dryer and feel for a strong air flow at the vent outside. The most likely cause is flexible vent hose used on the dryer is squeezed behind the dryer, blocking air flow. Don't use flex hose. You may have a lot of built up lint in the dryer vent pipes also, which would need to be cleaned out. Also, make sure you are still using the same type of gas. (natural vs. LP) If different, dryer would need to be converted for proper opperation.
