First you will need guages,either for R-22 or 410a. On most unit there are valves on the outside unit were the copper line sets come into it. There are 2 ports that are 3/8 threads/ This is were the hoses connect. Be sure to bleed all the air out of the line that you hook the tank to. Some units don"t have charging ports. These units reqiure a line tap that has to be purchased from supply house. I don't like these due to making a penetration in the lines, they will leak after time!

Turn the thermostat switch that says fan on------auto to on an see if the fan comes on ,if don,t then the problem was the circuit board or find power wires going to the fan motor and jump it out to see if the fan motor is good or bad. then if it starts, then you,ve know ,you,ve eleminated the fan motor and its the circuit board...
the manufacture is only required to supply the part free of charge thru its warranty period. the installing company probably would only give a 1year labor warranty and honor the pparts thru the manufacture for 5 years but unless you paid additinal for an extended labor warranty i dont think you are going to have much luck. Make sure you change your air filters every 30 days a dirty filter is one of the biggest causes of evap coils prematurely leaking. Sorry wish i could be more help.
