Optio E50 camera . after taking photo when I press to see what I have taken , the screen is mainly white with very faint images . I have reset camera to factory settings but with same result . Help !!

If the images look OK when downloaded to your computer, then the fault lies in the camera. If, however, they look the same, then you need to look at either your exposure or white balance settings.

Try messing around with the settings so different pictures are achieved. is there flash? (I personally never use flash in any pictures I take). Just setting the ISO to manual doesn't do anything, There are specific values, setting it to a lower may help, there's also white balance and exposure you should take in account. The camera also isn't that great of a camera and I'd suggest getting a new one.
If the previously captured images are appearing fine in the Camera, then the issue is with the CCD Image Sensor unit only. Check if the display icons are appearing normally on the Camera screen.
Try power resetting and Factory resetting the Camera to check if the issue can be resolved: Power reset: Remove the batteries from the Camera. Press and hold the POWER BUTTON of the Camera for 15 seconds. Then, reinsert the batteries after 1 minute. Factory reset; To reset the Camera back to factory default, select the INITIALIZE Option from the Main Settings 1 Menu of the Camera to OK.
Hi, It is problem of lcd screen that will be replaced to get correct picture view. Local camera repair shop will replace it or if you have expertise then can replace lcd screen by yourself. Let me know if you need part number of lcd screen for DSC-S930 camera. Thanks.
I would try formatting the card, and trying with new pictures. If that does not work, you may need a new main board. The main boards on that model are prone to problems. I can use this camera for parts.
Upon startup lens emerges but when screen appears it is white whereas it normally displays whatever the lens sees.When the shutter button is pressed the camera will focus and take a white picture which can be deleted.The camera does not flash although flash is set to automatic and photo taken in a dark room.Camera flashes (weakly) with flash set to manual on.Lens is unobstructed and appears to be perfectly normal.Camera was not dropped.Batteries have been changed.
Try first to reset your camera. Press the menu button, go over to setup, go down to reset, press the right arrow, highlight reset and press set. Don't worry it won't erase any of the pictures on your memory card. If that doesn't work you can try and manually set the white balance on your camera and I would recommend sending it into repairs if that doesn't work since it's taking nighttime pictures fine. :)

Check if you are getting the same results on the images- printed or viewed on the computer screen.
This will prove whether is is a LCD error or CCD error or Processor error
But the remedy will be that same
