My na202 remote quit working i replaced the batteries and still nothing is this remote reprogramable

Check the remote control for its infrared emission. Check it with fresh batteries. Check it by pressing all the keys. You can detect the presence of infra-red emission from the remote control, using a cell-phone camera. If you wish to get more details about how to check a remote control, please visit this site. One among the posts has details about it. Surf the site with patience. In some cases, the remote control might need to clean.

Just bought a Toshiba refurbished DVD/VCR player. The remote doesn't work at all. I've doublechecked the NEW batteries and tried a tip of pushing EVERY button with the batteries out. Any ideas

1) the batteries will be the same type and full charged
2) clean the contacts battery from dirty, dust, oxide or corrosion
3) retight the spring contacts battery with pliers for a GOOD contacts
4) open the remote.control and clean the keypads switch, from dirty, dust, oxide, Open contacts, or Bad contacts. they emite a good signal infrared from SYScon transmi vs Syscon receiver.
see the block diagram. If doesnot resolve the problem go to the repair shop TV for fix it.
God bless you

I am looking for a couple of components for my Curtis Protable DVD Player. First i Need to know what battery goes in the remote and second is the A/V output cable.

Most remote controls take AAA batteries, if you open the battery door, it should say "AAA" or "AA" there, which indicates the battery type.

As for the A/V cable, typically for a DVD player you will want a composite RCA video cable, which will be a cable with three connectors on each end, usually red, white, and yellow. Just match the connectors to the equivalent colours on the DVD player and the back of the TV.

I bought this particular unit, years ago. And, though I don't watch dvds very often, the remote control stopped working this week. I thought that the reason was because of the batteries that were in the...

Apparently, the original remote is no longer available, but it always worth trawling eBay for used remotes. I've found many unavailable remotes for customers there. have a substitute remote available for $19.99 plus $7.95 shipping = £27.94 total.

I will try some other sources and will post back if I can find an original.

Do you have to reprogram the remote after changing the batteries?

It depends on the remote model.

After changing the battery please check weather the remote works or else you need to reprogramme it.

For programming please follow the below steps

1.Press the Setup button on your the universal remote and continue to hold it down until the indicator light stops flashing and remains solid. Release the Setup button.

2.Press the Mode button for the type of device you want to program on your Philips universal remote, such as the TV or DVD button.

3.Release it immediately and make sure the indicator light is illuminated.
4.Enter the first possible four-digit code on the universal remote, and then press another button on the remote to see if the device is now programmed, such as the volume control or power button.
5.If the device responds, you have successfully programmed your Philips universal remote.
6. If not, turn the device off and back on and follow the steps again using the next code on the list. Repeat until the device successfully responds

Remote Control won't work

I don't know where you live, but if you are in the US you're probably somewhere near a Radio Shack. Batteries is one thing they do very well. Chances are they will have what you need, or can order it if it's not a stock item. You can also order online. Take the old battery and look at it under a magnifier and you'll be able to read the type number, and that's what you need to get. It's possible the replacement may have a different type number, but will be a correct substitute.

I have several good suggestions on how to determine what the problem is, and if it's the remote control what to do about it. First off, if you think the remote control is broken, what I'd try first is try unplugging the television and replacing the batteries in the remote with new ones. I would leave the batteries and leave the tv unplugged for atleast a few minutes. If that doesn't correct the problem. You could take your remote to the store where they are still selling your exact television. If that's not possible than maybe its time to try purchasing a new remote. I would not recommend purchasing a universal remote, and go straight to finding a replacement remote that is the exact replacement for the remote that's broken. A site that's good is and have a section specific to ILO Remote Controls.
