"NO DISC" and no power to fan--Common Cause???

Panasonic Home Theater System SA-HT95 gives you "NO DISC" while trying to play a DVD. Also noticed fan does not work. I pulled cover and unplugged fan. Checked the connector where the fan plugs in.....no 24VDC.

I have a panasonic SA-PT550 theater system, i put a brand new dvd in it says no disc. Ive noticed that it is very dusty as its sat on the carpet under my Viera flat screen. is there a way dust can get...

If it does that with only THAT disc, maybe it's the disc.

Anywhere air goes, dust goes and the more dusty, the more contaminated an optically-dependent medium like a disc player will become.

I'd also be concerned about ventilation and overheating.

Panasonic sa-ht95 dvd home theater sound system no read discs.

You might try taking the back off and using a can air on it.do not use the can of air up close. Use it in short bursts. Also use a dvd cleaner the laser eye may be dirty. You can clean it off with a q-tip and alcohol. Make sure it is dry before use. Wait at least 5 minutes to be safe. Un plug it first. Be careful not to touch anything in there especially the boards, They are sensitive to electricity in your body. Most techs wear a static wrist starp.
