Does this mean that when you turn it on by the unit it is fine? If so then what you need to do is a remote reset, to do this turn the tv off at the wall then take the batteries out of the remote, then press all the buttons on the remote working your way from the top to the bottom (and yes sounds bisare i know but all of them) then put the bateries back in and turn on should work if its still turning on by the unit that is

reset the Tv, disconnect the power cord from the outlet wait by 45 seconds, and try again.
However if the problem persist, you must test the power switch from TV for open or faulty, test the sensor tv, try to turn ON directly from Tv, NOT FROM R.CONTROL. If the problem persist, you must go inside from the power supply for faulty.
God bless you

Have purchased a Technika TK81R universal remote control to use with my Goodmans LD 2667D but canot get it to work any idea what to do?

Setup codes for Technika TV with universal remote contol are:
0031 0004 0005 0009 0051 0053 0105 0109 0170 0000 0174 0001 0008 0012 0042 0058
Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.
    Code Search Method
    1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
    2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
    3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
    4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
    5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.

My Technika LCD32-229 is just over 12 months old and has suddenly decided not to respond to the remote or on/off control on the TV. If I turn of the power at the mains for 30 seconds or so, it will then...

HERE'S THE ANSWER TO YOUR PROBLEM:

The possible reason why your TV doesn't respond to your remote is probably the battery of your remote. Maybe it has been used up to it's fullest capacity, so try checking it up. In case, it has been used up, try to buy a new one.

The possible reason why your TV doesn't stay on is still your remote control. Maybe you have accidentally set it to "sleep mode." When it is set into sleep mode, it turns on just for a shorter time. It cannot stay on longer.

So, here's what you've got to do. Check your remote. When the remote works already, press the sleep button remote again. I hope it works for you.

Thanks.

Auto code search

1. switch on the TV and select a channel eg. Bbc1 on the TV itself
2. press the appropriate device button eg. TV
3. press the green SET button for approx 5 seconds until the red light comes on.
4. release the green SET button and point the remote at the device to be controlled, the remote will emit a test signal about every 2 seconds.
5. when the TV switches itself off briefly press the green SET button to store the code found.
6. when the red light goes out the search is ended.
7. try out the remote if it works follow the same steps to set it to other devices eg. DVD. If it does not work follow the steps again.
cover other remote sensors on other devices when setting the remote.
