Fan Noise coming from back of freezer compartment on Whirlpool Refrigerator Model # ET1FTEXS000. Sounds like fan hitting a buildup of ice chunks. Doesn't happen all the time.

Check the door seal to ensure outside air not being pulled in . You could have a defrost problem if frost build up on rear freezer wall .

STARTED MAKING NOISE THAT STOPS WHEN I OPEN THE FREEZER DRAWER AND STARTS BACK UP WHEN I CLOSE IT COULD THIS BE ICE BUILD UP? IT SOUNDS MOE LIKE A FAN HITTING D=SOMETHING RATHER THAN THE COMPRESSOR

Yes that's an extreme amount of ice buildup usually caused by an air leak through seals on the door or the door on the ice dispenser is not all the way shut you must repair or the refrigerator's going to be damaged manual defrost by unplugging and heating up the freezer compartment will help but it will not solve the problem of air getting in there and freezing the moisture from outside of the refrigerator please provide a model number

Samsung RF26XAEBP frig a little over 2 years old sounds like fan motor is rubbing behind icemaker area when i open the door it stops close the door it starts again how to resolve?

You need to unplug and then remove the rear panel inside the back of the freezer and look over the fan assemblies to insure they are not hitting accumulated ice. Ice buildup around fans can be caused by leaving refrigerator or freezer door open over extended times or defrost component failure. Either way it's a good idea to have a look at the inside of the evaporator compartment to prevent damage to fan blades and food loss. If noise stops when you open the door, you may have a noisy fan (or could have ice build up, causing fan blade to hit ice and cause noise). I gather it is a frost-free model ie has a fan in the freezer compartment. If noise is caused by fan hitting ice build up, you may have a problem with the auto defrost system, as you should not get ice build up in a frost free.
Noise stops when you open door because fan turns off when door is opened.

Check the back wall of the freezer compartment for ice buildup. Sounds like you have a defrost issue.

Fan begins to make noise - then fridge stops.

You have a defrost system failure and needs to be checked.

You can manually defrost for a temp fix. Turn it off, take everything out of the freezer, use a hairdryer to warm the back wall, 20-30 min, put everything back, turn it back on and you should be good for a couple of days.

I have a Sunsung RS21JLSG, and it's not chilling the food like it should. It's making terrible noise, sounds like a generator. Anyone know the problem?

Fan blade is hitting something probably, could be ice buildup in the freezer compartment. Open the freezer door and see if thats where your noise is coming from. If it is coming from the back of the refrigerator at the bottom could be something was drawn into the fan causing you noise.
