Graphics Card?

The best way to get current drivers is to go to the manufature website and download them.

Select your OS then under VGA driver download the one that matches your machine.

You can not upgrade a graphics card in this laptop. Your best bet if you play games is to get a desktop computer. Desktop computers are more upgradable than laptops (for the most part).

I am using dell inspiron 1564 .now i cant even install a single game because of vga problem ... what shall i do now sir

As you are using dell inspiron 1564 it comes with a atleast 512mb graphics card by default. If you are not able to play games on it due to Vga problem first check you install the proper vga display drivers for the laptop or try to reinstall the vga display driver again from the drivers disk you get with the laptop. After installation of proper vga drivers all your games will work perfectly.

Can't play games after windows 7 install

Have you installed the latest drivers for your video card ? Because in your description you are running with standard VGA drivers from operating sistem. Find your laptop model and visit the manufacturer support site and see if they have driver for Windows 7. If not try to use Windows update from Operating Sistem, from Start menu - Applications - Windows Update.

I can not play 3D games because the screen is black even i have installed driver, its does not work, i only play with 2D games, before that i still normally playing games 3D,i guess something is wrong with...

Let's see if something IS wrong with the card, or it is something else.

Some of what I may state, may sound like I'm insulting your intelligence. Please be aware that this is the furthest thing from my mind. I'm just trying to 'Cover all bases', to help you get your problem solved.

1.Sometimes we get in a hurry, and look back to see that the monitor was not hooked into the graphics card, but was accidentally hooked into the VGA port on the motherboard.

2.If this is an Nvidia GeForce FX5200, and you're trying to play a game like Crysis, it isn't going to work. Not enough 'graphics power' on that card.

(You need at least an Nvidia GeForce 9800GT to use medium to medium/high settings)

You also need a decent processor.
Celeron, Pentium 4, and Pentium D won't cut it, and you should have 2GB's of Ram Memory.

3.The best way to install a graphics card is to install the drivers off of the CD, FIRST, then turn off the computer, unplug from power, de-static yourself, and install the graphics card.

Because as soon as a device is installed on a computer using Windows, Windows breaks it's neck trying to find compatible drivers for it.

If THE drivers are not there, Windows will match up generic drivers out of it's database. It has THOUSANDS of generic drivers.

Won't be the right ones, though! You need THE drivers for that GeForce FX5200. The ones that came with it on that CD.
When you install THE drivers after you have installed the graphics card, you get a Driver Conflict.

Windows: "Which one's do I use? These or THESE?"

If this is the situation you may want to try this.

A.Turn off your computer normally. Unplug it from power. Open the case. Work on a table, and TOUCH the metal frame of the computer case.

(Your body carries Static electricity. Static will FRY OUT delicate computer hardware components! You may not see it or feel it! Computer unplugged from power, you're safe. Touch the metal frame, and your computer is safe. IF you get up, and leave for Any reason while working on your computer, when you come back TOUCH the metal frame again.

Install a graphics card while the computer is plugged into power, you'll fry out that graphics card!)

B.Remove your graphics card. You need to lay it down on a non-static area.

C.Push the Power On button in, and Hold it In for a count of Five seconds. Let go. Do this procedure Two more times.
You are clearing out CMOS Error Codes, and resetting BIOS Setup, back to the factory default settings.

D.Now attach the monitor cable to the VGA port on the motherboard,

E.Plug the computer back into power. Leave the case open. You'll be back in there in a few minutes. (Do Not reach inside!)

F.WAIT 1 minute, then power on your computer. After Windows loads, go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.
Remove the Nvidia software. ALL of it. Anything you see associated with the Nvidia name.

If you are asked to restart your computer, do so. If not, restart your computer. (Close all windows, go back to your desktop screen. Click on Start>Turn Off Computer>Restart)

G.After Windows loads, install the Drivers from the CD disk.

H.After you're done with the instllation, if you are asked to Restart your computer - NO!
Click on Restart Later. Close all windows, go back to your desktop screen. Turn your computer off.

Unplug from Power!

I.Touch the metal frame again. Install the graphics card. Close the computer case. Plug the monitor into the graphics card. Plug the computer back into power.
WAIT 1 minute, turn the computer on.

S3 graphics twisterK

To make a long story short, the answer is no. Games that require 64mb VGA won't work with your hardware. drivers or software won't fix that only a hardware upgrade will do it. Plus s3 brand cards are notorious for bad driver support.

It all depends what kind of games you wish to play, you can probably play all the older games like Quake or Half-Life or older than 1997 just fine on your system with that video card. But you won't be able to play almost any of the newer 3d games out there. If you want to play new games like Battlefield 2 for example, you would at least need a new Nvidia or ATI brand video card on a brand new computer.
