The status of my printer (epson stylus c45)is idle. There's this yellow exclamation point before the message-Service Required then...inside the dialogue box it's written that Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. You have done most of the required DIY but I feel that two more things can be tried out. First of all you can reinstall after removing the sofware from your PC. there after connect the C45 and try to see if the fault changes. If not we have to suspect the head and since you had tried the maintenance and head cleaning which is inbuild in this model . You will have to think of the cost of an head assembly to the cost of a new model of epson. If not try to use it printiing all your documents till the ink runs out and decide. Hope my advice helps. Take the printer to a qualified technician, to reset the "chip" that records the %-full of the ink-pad absorber.

Your printer has reach its maximum count of cleaning and printing. This need to be reset using epson adjustment program. But before resetting make sure that you have replace the waste pad inside your printer or it is much better to point outside the hose where the waste ink goes out.

The carriage can not move freely. Open case. Check for something slip in roller, or may be some material that block carriage moving.

The yellow nozzle is badly clog, use head cleaner with syringe and flexible pipe to blow the yellow nozzle.

epson.com, actually you can print using black ink only, but you have to reset the color ink for it to register as full. :) or you can freeze the ink counter using the ssc service utility before the other ink rans out. :)

If both lights are flashing, it means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink ("protection") counter has exceeded its limit. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced as soon as possible. You can overcome this problem temporarily by using the SSC utility - download from

and reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation. However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer. A copy of the service manual is available from a number of sellers - just Google "Epson C45 Service Manual". You will often find them
for sale very cheaply on E-Bay.
