The short answer is yes, you can watch over the air DTV programming on your tv without buying another DTV tuner. There is one built in to the tv. You will need some sort of antenna and then
you will have to scan the channels. But the tv is NICE and you will do just fine.
Hook up the cable wire that comes directly from the wall to the dvd recorder's in connection, then get a 3 ft cable cord and connect from the out of the dvd recorder to the in on the tv. You should be able to set the dvd recorder channel and timer and leave it off. you then should be able to have your tv on and watch any station but to watch the tv with dvd recorder on, your tv should be set to either channel 3 or 4 depending on the switch on back of dvd recorder. Depending on how far you are from the broadcaster you can try Rabbit ears or and outside antenna.. If the set is more than two years old you may need a digital converter after Feb 17th
