Question about Canon PowerShot A75 Digital Camera
Hi. I have had my Canon PowerShot for about 2-3 years now. I turned it on today and all of a sudden it will not take a pic anymore. I click and it has a swooshy purple kinda image with black. PLEASE HELP :(
Unfortunately it sounds like you have a bad CCD on your A75. You can try calling Canon to see if it is under the CCD recall. The recall is over, but Canon allegedly has still been accepting customer's cameras for the recall.

I have a canon A75 and the screen just went black recently. Before it turned black, I took some pictures that were real dark and had purple lines across them.
Just got off the phone with Canon and the guy said send it in and they would fix it. Said it is a defective part in the camera, Didn't matter if it is or is not in warranty. Said there is a service call on the camera but I did not receive any notice.

Here's some more info on the service advisory for the defective CCD imagers. Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Please check the following two links for more info:
