F4 error

F4 is in fact a blockage and a drain failure in your dishwasher. It will flash if the sump is not empty of water, if the pump has run for more than four minutes or if the electronic control PCB is defective.

What is an f4 on a adp7966

F4 is a drain error drain pump starts and after 4minutes the wi detects that it is not empty causing this error this could happen due to these issues
-defective drain pump
-siphon closed
-control board defective
-OW/WI defective usually it would be the drain pump so i would start there and if you have any further questions message me back and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped when our chat has fully concluded it allows me to help others in similar situations Thanks Rick

Glasses and dishes coming out unclean and smeary have put a cleaner in but no difference part where salt goes in keeps filling up with water

Make sure that there is no blockage of the water flow to rotors (i.e. a pot located over a central water spout, misaligned movable water connections).

Next, make sure there is no cutlery or the like that goes through the slide out baskets to stop the rotors from turning.

Also, just give the rotors a spin by hand to make sure they are free to do their job.

Have never heard of a salt being put anywhere in a dishwasher - just in a water softener which is usually not part of a dishwasher.

Milky residue and a dry salt pot after each wash

It sounds as if there is a blockage in the salt matrix / inlet. This can happen if the wrong type of salt is used.
The simple answer is to use the expensive tablets/pods - that include salt. This will improve the wash and hopefully the blockage will free eventually.
Fill the salt container with water regularly to try and help dissolve it - no salt untill it's clear.

If it doesn't clear within a month - it may need stripping and clearing manually - or continue with the premium tablets untill something else breaks - requiring a service.

First flashing light.

I've just had this issue and managed to get it working again.

The problem is more than likely water sat in the bottom of the machine. Unload and unplug your machine. Tip it backwards by about 45 degrees, and you should notice about 1/2 pint of water leaking out of the back on to the floor (make sure you have some old towels handy).

After doing this my machine started to work again.

Check the inlet strainer at the bottom of the machine for blockage.

Whirlpool adp 2966 f4 problem

I think on those you can gain acces to the outlet hose through removing the right hand side panel, if you do this I would advise changing your pump that the hose connects to ad this is probably whats causing the f4.

Whirlpool dishwasher

We had same problem with our ADP 5966. An engineer over the phone said he thought it was related to machine being unable to drain. I checked the drainage pipe connection to u-bend under sink, and sure enough, there was a major blockage. Cleared that and hey presto, problem solved.
