If you have Windows Vista installed on Aspire One PC Notebook and it does not have the recycle bin (trash can) on the desktop by default. Here’s how to get it back.

  • Right click on the desktop.
  • Choose Personalize.
  • On the left side menu, you should click Change desktop icons.
  • This will show you the desktop items that you can have appear.
Most people will want Computer, Recycle Bin, and User’s Files checked off so that they are easily accessible from the desktop.

It should be on your desktop if you are using Windows[will look like a trashcan]. If it is not there then you can place an icon there by; 1. If you are using XP right mouseclick on an open area of your desktop and select properties. You will see the tabs to set up desktop appearance and icons. or 2. If you are using Vista, right mouseclick on an open area of your desktop and select personalize. Same type of tabs so you can choose the appearance and icon setup tabs. Hope this helps.
