Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
I was attempting to play Gears of War in my 360 a few weeks ago and it started out just fine, then it froze part way through the game. I turned the power off and powered it back up again and then removed the disc, when l looked at the disc to see if maybe it was dirty or something l was taken aback when l saw a ring of scratches on the disc!! all the way around my disc there was a solid line of scratches!! l know for a fact that they werent on there before, so just for the sake of argument l put another game in the console, verifying before hand that there were no scratches or dirt on the disc and it did the exact same thing, two games ruined now!! what do l do about this problem, my warranty has expired and no one can help me!
Was the console moved while the disk was running in the tray? Is the console on a flat and even surface with space around it for air? You may have a faulty DVD drive, you can buy replacements usually either Samsung or Toshiba, they are easy enough to find and fit but it does mean taking your console apart but it shouldn't be a problem seeing as the warranty is out. You could either try this or buy an extended warranty from Microsoft and send the console back to them.
