I have a Kenwood deck and I don't know how to get my code it was in my old car and when I put it in my new car it wanted a code and I don't know it

KENWOOD SECURITY CODE CLEAR procedure


Your radio will require one of the following procedures.

Type 1
During the code request mode, while holding the DISP key depressed, press and hold the Volume UP or DOWN key for 3 seconds (so that “…” disappears).
Then using your remote enter your code.

Type 2
Press the "Auto" button and "Track up" on face of radio at the same time. The four dash lines ( . . . . ) should "disappear".

Then using your remote enter your code.

Type 3
Model# DPX-4020 and DPX-4030
Press and hold the 1 then the 6 preset key (preset keys are the buttons on face of radio for storing you "favorite" radio stations). "C" should display.
Then using your remote, enter your code.


Enter your number from the remote control unit. Your code number is 5227 (KCAR)

* Press numeric key “5” ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “2” ( 3 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “2” ( 1 time ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key
* Press numeric key “7” ( 2 times ) and press the Track UP/Next Track key

The security is canceled and the set enters the TUNER mode!

sorry about the delay I was on holiday, if you haven't solved the problem yet I would suggest that you check that you are getting both power supplies (red and yellow) and if not the first thing to do is check the fuses in the car. Let me know if your'e still having problems.

I found this on another site that I used for my kenwood and it worked (mine was type 3):

you should try the defaults 0000,0123,1234. in most cases unless you or the original owner put in the security code. Worse case it will just keep turning off till you get it right.

SECURITY CODE ON MY CD DECK

Get the serial number for you unit and call Kenwood in your country. They will have the codes on file. They will also give you instructions on how to put the code in.

KCD-X590 is looking for a code that i never put in, and i bought the deck brand new

Method of clearing the programmable security
code (KDC-MP632U/X590)
1. While "– – – –" is being displayed, press [->> ] key for at
least 3 seconds while pressing [AUTO] or [TI] key.
This makes "– – – –" display disappear.
2. Using the remote controller, input "KCAR".
Press remote controller [5] key 2 times (Input for "K") and
then press [->> ] key.
Press remote controller [2] key 3 times (Input for "C") and
then press [ ->>] key.
Press remote controller [2] key once (Input for "A") and then
press [->> ] key.
Press remote controller [7] key 2 times (Input for "R") and
then press [->> ] key.
3. The security is released and the unit enters the STANDBY
mode.
4. If a wrong code is input, the unit goes into the Code Re-quest
mode.

Need help unlocking code on kdc-x789

Make sure you're entering the code correctly; use the control knob's 4-way controls to select the numbers, and when you're done press and hold the control knob for at least 3 seconds.
