Try running the print cleaning utility a couple of times , if that fails to help, remove the cartridge, fold up a piece of paper towel a bunch of times and place the paper towel in a shallow dish of water hat you don't use to eat off of and set the cartridge on the water soaked paper towel for a couple of minutes. Set the copper looking part on the paper towel. Then take the cartridge and set it on a dry paper towel that you have folded up a bunch of times but don't wipe it just blot it on the paper towel. It should leave a few black stripes if your using black cartridge or a yellow/magenta/blue if your using color. If you don't see anything on the dry paper towel then it's time for a new cartridge. If you do see either black or the three colors reinstall the cartridge and run the cleaning utility once and you should be good to go. Warning wear gloves. Ink does not come off of skin easily. Trust me you don't want to get it on your hands or anything else. Also do it on a bunch of old newspapers oir cardboard just in case something leaks Good luck

I bought some cheap toner and noticed almost immediately streaking and missing lines. I replaced it with HP toner but now black won't print at all.

The printer suddenly started printing fuzzy text. I think it is out of alignment but when I try to print the alignment page, it comes out fuzzy too. Is there another way to align the printer and take care...


There are several reasons why the HP All-in-One may fail to align the cartridges. The most common reason is an ink cartridge that has one of the following problems:
  • One of the ink cartridges is low or out of ink. Black and all three colors must be available.
  • The paper has already been printed on or is colored paper.
  • Protective tape on a new ink cartridge has not been removed.
  • Contacts on the ink cartridge are not meeting the contacts in the carriage correctly.
  • Cartridge is remanufactured or refilled. Refilled or remanufactured ink cartridges may have been damaged during the refilling process or have clogged ink nozzles.
  • The ink cartridge is defective

All ink very faded just changed ink too


You change with the genuine ink or not? Maybe the print head faulty or just the setting problem. Need someone assist you directly to your desktop.

Print is faded. I just replaced the ink jets.

How to improve print quality
Cleaning the print head
To ensure good print quality, the MFC will regularly clean the print
head. You can start the cleaning process manually if needed.
Clean the print head and ink cartridges if you get a horizontal line in
the text or graphics on your printed pages. You can clean Black only
or three colors at a time (Cyan/Yellow/Magenta), or all four colors at
once.
Cleaning the print head consumes ink. Cleaning too often uses ink
unnecessarily.
Caution
Do NOT touch the print head. Touching the print head may cause
permanent damage and may void the print head’s warranty.
1 Press Ink.
2 Press or to select Cleaning.
Press Menu/Set.
3 Press or to select Black, Color or All.
Press Menu/Set.
The MFC will clean the print head. When cleaning is finished,
the MFC will go back to standby mode automatically.
If you clean the print head at least five times and the print has
not improved, call Brother Customer Service (see Brother
numbers on page i).

Colors fading away. Replaced cartridges.


I contacted Konica M again. We ran some printing tests. It seems to be bad ink cartridges, in particular the Cyan.

I have a Xerox Phaser 8400 with image problems. After power up it prints a Startup Page - That page is black text which faded and slightly distorted in some areas and in areas that are in Color only...


What you are describing is a bad print head. You can try running the eliminate light stripes several times, and jet substitution, but most likely the print head will have to be replaced to remedy your problem.
You can try googling. Phaser printer print heads or phaser printheads.
There seems to be a secondary market appearing for those print heads. I can tell you from Xerox, if you have no maintenance agreement, they cost $750 per print head.
Honestly, having worked on about every type of color printer known to man, the new solid ink phaser printers, produce a dry ink image of 2400 x 2400 dpi with ink particles that align end to end. The resolution of those printers are remarkable and can be purchased for less than the price of one of those new print heads.
Now for reliable, albeit somewhat not as sharp a color image, but still exceptional, you really can not beat an HP.
The ink stick technology really no longer has the color vividness advantage it initially had. The inks that align end to end, have ended that advantage and are sure a lot cheaper to operate per page.

Print faded after replacing black cartridge Brother 240C


The print heads don't appreciate being out of ink so the Brother printer has sensors to prevent that but the tape defeated that prevention. Maybe more cleanings or maybe a cartridge with printhead cleaning solution will help. Otherwise, I fear a new printer.
