I have wd 65738 Mitsubishi tv that has a problem can you help ME?

Hello, it sounds like your color wheel is going bad. the humming noise is usually the bearing in it going bad and it starts to distort the image and finally it will shut the set down because it is malfunctioning......tks

Could be the fan. It will cool tv but could also be to much for tv to handle.
You can also try reseating the lamp. It may say ok but be wrong.
I have a Mitsubishi 5500 projection tv . have had the type of issue you have had and I have replaced a lamp as well.had to reseat the lamp three times before it worked without shutting down.

The bulb is faulty connection or inverter failing

I would bet the illumination lamp has reached the end of it's life (~$40 online). Should be easy to replace. Also possible the ventilation vents need cleaning, which could cause the lamp to overheat and turn off.

what sources do you have connected to the tv?
If you have more than one source, have you tried another source to see if it also has no sound. The TV also has a setting in the audio menu to turn off the internal speakers.

Did this problem happen all of a sudden or did it happen over time?/

Hi,if you hear constant clicking or trying to turn on it could be your ballast.But if tv is between 1 yr -2 yrs maybe its time to replace the lamp.This will be the part number you need 915P061010 you can find it in discount-merchant to get the Philips lamps that normally last 2-4 yrs.God bless.
