Question about Euro-Pro Shark Professional Upright Vacuum with Bonus StickVac Red Bagless Vacuum

1 Answer

The brush is not moving on the vaccume. I'm pretty sure that the belt is busted. I cannot see how to get the shroud off, so that I can get to the roller and belt. It all looks and feels like one piece, even when I start removing screws. It is a bag-less vac. The model number is - v1310rs. Thank you.

I know on my Eureka I had to remove a couple of screws on the bottom and then get a flat blade screwdriver and wedge it on each side of the base kinda next where the end of the roller would be and it snaps up and off. Really weird I thought but that's how it was done on my model. Or on another vacuum cleaner I remember once I got the bottom piece that covered the roller off, the belt was right there. It may seem like it's all one piece but just stick the flat blade screwdriver where you think it might help and gently pry and you will figure it out.

My rotating brushes have stopped rotating

Almost certainly you have broken a drive belt. It is not a big deal though just turn it upside down and remove the base plate you should be able to access the belt from there. You should be able to get a belt pretty easy from an online retailer like vacuumspot

The belts keep busting. i check the roller brush and it moves easily with out the belt. why do the belts keep busting?

1) could be the belts you are using are not for that particular model.

2) depending on what you are vacuuming, a rug on the floor for example with tassels will always break the belt when it gets caught into the roller brush.

The brush on my vaccum stopped rotating, we replaced the belt thinking that could be the problem. It seems that the belt is working fine and the brush will not rotate even manually- what can I do to get it...

Remove the brush from the machine and clean as best you can. At each end of the brush there is a plastic clip that holds it into the vacuum. Add some WD40 between the clip and the brush and turn the clip around the brush until it moves freely. Do this for both ends. Reassemble making sure the belt is properly installed.

Hi, The belt of our Dirt devil bagless vaccum broke and we got new belt and replaced it. Even after replacing the belt, the brush is not rotating. Any suggestions please ?

Did you check to see that the beater brush, the brush that the belt drives, is free of debris and moves freely? When they bind up they can cause the belt to break. Remove the beater brush just as you do when changing the belt and clean as best you can. There are retainer clips at each end of the brush, add some WD40 between the clips and the beater brush and turn by hand to free it up. Reassemble making sure the belt is on in the proper manner so that the brush will turn in the correct direction. If you find this solution helpful, I would appreciate a Thumbs Up from you!
Thank you. Paul

Our vaccum cleaner does not clean up.

If the floor unit is not picking up, check for a broken belt for the beater brush or for a frozen beater brush. Might be a good idea to remove the beater brush and clean it of any debris and squirt some WD40 on the two end pieces that hold the beater brush to the vacuum itself. Turn the brush by hand to be sure it is free and reassemble. Make sure the belt is properly attached so it moves the brush in the correct direction.
If you find this to be helpful, I would appreciate you providing me with a thumbs up rating. Thank you. Paul

Have a sour odor when the vaccum is running. What could be the problem? Best way to describe the smell is that is smells like dirty feet. I have the dyson dc07 Pink

Either something you have pulled into the vacuum or perhaps the drive belt is not turning the beater brush. Remove the beater brush and clean as best you can paying particular attention to the end pieces. If possible, squirt a bit of WD40 between the beater brush and the end pieces. Turn by hand to be sure the brush is moving freely. Reassemble with new belt.
Please let me know how it turns out. Paul

Wertheim vaccum 3180

most vacuums use a belt that runs from the motor to the front brush. and when the brush gets jammed the motor continues to run and burns the belt (probably what you smelled).
you'll have to turn it over and remove the base plate and replace the belt.
use the old belt to find a match
hope this helps.....jay

Oreck vaccum

The belt must not be running true to the pulley. You may need a brush roll, but also check the motor to make sure it isn't moving inward after the belt is put on.
