Question about HP Compaq Presario V2000 Notebook
My USB ports on the front main board and on the rear of the machine have stopped working/ powered. I have removed all the usb ports in the device manager and restarted my computer to no avail. What should I do? Have they burned out from a serge? How can I tell?
Go back in to th device manager
Look for the yellow and re-install them
Let me know

Have you checked drivers not only for the usb, but for the chipset of the system itself. Also, have you installed service pack 2?
Might also just visually inspect for troublesome fingers in the ports themselves; often get bent and short out.
