My Maytag Jet clean dishwasher started filling with water and overflowed before we found out. It was off and not on delay. had to turn off breaker to that part of kitchen to get it to stop.

We were able to hit the drain button and empty before we cut the power off. Obviously something in the control board shorted.

On another website, we found a reset code that works for our Kenmore, which I think is the same as yours. Hit Heated Dry, Normal Wash, Heated Dry, Normal Wash (one at a time, within six seconds).

Sounds like a thermal fuse that is a less than $20 part. remove the top 6 screws in the door that hold the plastic front panel on. Behind that is a circuit board and a white flat 1" square fuse with two wires going to it. make sure power is off at breaker. Test with an meter to see if any current is going thru. If not, that is most likely your problem, and just follow the fuse replacement kit instructions carefully, including putting the new wires on the new fuse like they say. Otherwise, the original wires going to the fuse will blow it too.

Should take about 20 minutes.

Shut the dishwasher off at the breaker. then restart it. See if that clears the board.you may have put the machine into a control lock out. Look for that button. press and hold it for 3 seconds. see if that doesn't clear the board.

In my GE dishwasher, the jet-dry in the dispenser turned brown. I emptied it all out and refilled it with clean jet-dry, but a few weeks later it was brown again. I guess somehow dirty water is getting...

Had the same problem, opened up the dishwasher, pulled out the jet dry container and found some kind of nasty growth in it. I honestly have no idea what it is, so of course I took a picture, and then threw the whole thing away._1813.jpg

Water will not fill the dishwasher, it runs but it will not fill with water...is the water inlet plugged?

Hello there

The most common causes of this problem are a defective water inlet valve or a stuck float switch. The float switch sits under the dish racks and sends a shut-off signal to the dishwasher when the water level is high enough. Make sure you only use a Maytag-compatible replacement if you have to change out your dishwasher's float switch or water inlet valve.
Difficulty: Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need:

  • Owner's manual
  • Screwdriver
  • Scrub brush
  • Replacement parts (if necessary)
hd_clickable2_area.gifGet what you need for every
project at HomeDepot.com
  1. 1 Shut off power to the dishwasher from the home's circuit breaker box. Remove the lower rack from the inside of the dishwasher.
  2. 2 Check the water inlet valve to see if it clogged or broken. Replace the valve if you notice any problems and test the dishwasher again. If it still does not fill, proceed to Step Three to troubleshoot the float switch.
  3. 3 Consult your owner's manual to find the location of the float assembly. Remove the cover, if applicable to your dishwasher. There may be retaining screws holding the cover in place or it may just snap off.
  4. 4 Hold both sides of the float while you raise and lower it several times. The float should move freely without binding or catching on anything. Disconnect and use a scrub brush to clean the float if you feel any resistance.
  5. 5 Reattach the float and test its movement again. If it is still not moving properly, replace the float.
  6. 6 Replace the lower rack of the dishwasher and turn the breaker switch back on.

Dishes are cloudy and have soap residue. Have cleaned upper &lower spray arm often, as good as posible (find holes plugged). water level & temp. seems normal . Water intake screen appears clean

Clean the spray arm jet holes if they are blocked. Check whether you have filled the rinse-aid dispenser.

Check whether arm turns freely when rotated by hand manually.

Water is not coming into my Maytag dishwasher.

Hi,
Is the door open or unlatched?Make sure the door is completely closed and latched. On models with a dual-digit display, the control displays "- -" during a cycle if the door is not latched. Check for obstructions (spoons or utensils), that may be interfering with the door operation. A lower dish rack that is installed backward will also cause incomplete door closure. The lights for cycles selected will flash if the door is opened while running a cycle.
Is there power to the dishwasher?Check your household electrical box to see if a fuse has blown or if the circuit breaker has tripped. If the unit has a plug-in power cord, make sure it is plugged in.
Does your dishwasher have a rotary timer knob? The cycle selection must match the position of the timer knob. Turn the timer knob to the beginning of the preferred cycle. The timer knob should click when you reach the start of the cycle.
Is the control lock option activated?
The indicator light next to the lock graphic will illuminate when the controls are locked. Press and hold the Heated Dry option (button with lock icon) for three seconds and the light should turn off. Instructions are also placed on the label on top of the inner door to unlock the controls.
Is the delay start option activated? To cancel the delay and cycle, press Start/Cancel twice.
Is the water shutoff valve turned on?Make sure that the water shutoff valve is turned on.

My maytag Jet Clean EQ Plus seems to be stuck on the three minute delay

Hi 9897,

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

Your problem is: The red light for the three minute delay is staying on and you can't get a cycle to start

First try to reset the d/w. Turn off the power at the circuit breakers for ten minutes. This useually solves the problem. If not, you're likely looking at a bad control board.

Maytag MDB6650AWW will not fill

My Maytag MDB6650AWW dishwasher would not fill. The lights on the panel were on when I tried the wash cycle. I tested the water valve but no voltage was found during the cycle. I thought it may be the timer/control circuit. I traced the power from the door switch and found no power going to the float switch leg. I found two wires completely cut through (one going to the Water Valve) and three others partially sliced.

Check to see in you have enough water in tank. The dishwasher fills then recirculates this water under pressure. If you have water in tank, listen to see if motor is running or not. If it is, you may have clogged jet holes in the wash arms.
