There is usually a torx head plug in the rear cover. Put your finger inside and the fluid should touch your finger at the proper level or about half way. To replace is very expensive especially for a Jaguar (1000's) but seals would be $100's unless its just the diff cover gasket which should be fairly inexpensive.
The Drive Line is a general term that describes a variety of parts ...
Power starts with the engine ... power is transferred from the engine fly wheel through a clutch to the transmission ... through a series of gears to the 'tail shaft', the output of the transmission. The drive shaft inserts into the splines of the tail shaft. The shaft connects to the rear end where the power is divided between the rear tires through through a diferential. The axels connect to the diferential and deliver power to the hub towhich the tire is attached..
that is unless your car happens to be a front wheel drive ... which I dont think yours is.
? That's a good question . But I think I know what you mean. The differential is the gears in side that round part on your rear axle. If you have a 4 wheel drive you have a differential in the front and back.
That depends on the noise. It it is a growling noise it very well could be a bearing and could possdibly need to be overhauled. If the noise is more of a chatter it probably needs the fluid changed and a limited slip additive put in. If the diff has not been changed and is still stock it should be what they call a Gov Lock.
