Sometimes there is float switch inside. It open when you have stopped up drain. It could be tripping and slowly draining and bringing the unit back on. Check this first. Evcon did not put low pressure controls on there units. Could be bad capacitor also but check float switch first. Russ

WHAT SHOULD THE heat anticipator BE SET AT ON A MODEL COAT066BDA COLEMAN EVCON FURNACE

The typical starting point for heat anticipation is .4 amp. If you do not have a clamp-on ammeter, adjust it to .45 and observe operation for a few days. If not quite right and still short cycling slip it to .5. Then keep doing this until you are satisfied cycle time is correct.

If you have an amprobe or can borrow one, remove the stat and take a single loooooong thermostat wire. Attach it to the R or Rh and wrap it around the clamp on ammeter ten times then attach the other end to the W terminal. The furnace will initiate the heat cycle at that point. Observe the amp reading on the amprobe when full heat is on, DIVIDE that reading by ten (for the wraps of wire) and adjust the heat anticipator to THAT setting.

Coleman Evcon model DLAS075ADC, glow plug lights, fire starts, then the blower comes on,..after ten minutes the whole system shuts down and will not re light, what is causing this?

Check to see if the pressure switch is sticking...it wont restart the furnace if it is already pulled in before the inducer motor is called to kick on.

Bryant furnace model FX4C, FY4A with heat pump and a/c will not switch from a/c to heat pump. Only have heat with emergency heat on.

WELL this could be a couple of problems the reversing valve could be stuck either from not enough pressure which would be a leal and low on freon or the unit is off on low pressure switch/high pressure switch from either being low on freon or something restricting it and caused unit to shut down, ive been a servicer for many years and if it gets below 30 degrees outside i would recommend running the e-heat anyway it does cost more money minute for minute. but you will find it will heat alot faster in those colder nights than the heat pump therefore cost is about the same.
as far as not switching over could be low on freon or a stuck reversing valve... is the outside even running in cool mode if not the you may have a tripped pressure switch...good luck

Draft fan keeps on running after furnace shuts

That sounds pretty normal for most furnace/heater products. They run the heating element with fan for a cycle then after the heater reaches temperature it will shut off and the fan will continue to run to cool the element and to circulate the heat that it produced. If you want the manual for this product it looks like you can get it here: http://homeappliance.manualsonline.com/ex/product/headline/m/Coleman%2BEvcon/d/furnace/p/DGATO75BDC

I have a Coleman/Evcon Presidential ser# 074878. The plumber says the Heat exchanger is cracked. Is this something I can fix myself or is it less expenxive to buy a new furnace?

The heat exchanger is a bear to change. depending on the age of the unit it might be more practical to replace the unit. However unless you trust this service tech I'd get a second opinion, because it is rare that a heat exchanger will crack, plus by law he or she should have shut the furnace down do to carbonminoxde. Especially rare in Coleman Evcon series units.

What you have is an ignition problem and your unit is shutting down on safety.
