I was told that my pictures are lost in some format, how do I retreive them

Take no more pics until you've recovered your photos, take the memory card out of the camera. This is to reduce the chance of you overwriting some of your "lost" photos. There are many good freeware photo recovery software options that may help you recover your photos. This article reviews and outlines several of the better ones.

Why would photos disappear from memory card on fuji camera and can they be retreived?

there is a problem with digital cameras and using the usb ports on windows 7. win 7 has been reporting "no files found" or it wants to format the memory card!! this is wrong in both cases because the files are stil there it's just that win 7 refuses to recognise the the formatting of the devices. the work around for this issue is to use a memory card reader. i had this problem myself. just do not reformat your memory card or you will loose your pictures!!!

Hello, i took some pictures a few days back, but theres some problem while retreiving some of the images....the image for the particular pictures having problem shows a blue blank screen with file...

Best way is to download the pictures to a computer through a card reader (optional). The blue blank screen could be deleted images using the garbage can icon. Retrieving those images can be done but it cost to have a recovery program used and there is no grantee that the images can be extracted because the card my have been written over or formatted. Once you have your images saved to a computer the memory card should be loaded bak into the camera and the memory card formatted to give a clean working surface for the camera to write new files to.

Some pictures seem to have been deleted from the memory card and I can not figure out how to retreive them from internal memory

The delete (garbage can) on all these cameras should be used sparingly it's been the cause of more problems then enough but it's there and people use it, The memory card should be formatted every time the pictures are downloaded to the computer. That way the memory card is clean and fresh for the next series of new pictures. Now the pain about getting the pictures from internal memory to the computer is another little annoyance. Each picture from the internal memory has to be loaded to the removable memory card one at a time then when all the pictures are on the removable memory card they can be downloaded to the computer and the internal memory cleared/deleted. I hit format and lost all my pictures how can i

Formatting a memory card wipes out everything on it, preparing it for fresh use. If you haven't done anything with the memory card since then, you may be able to recover the files on it. Do a Google search for "file recovery program" and specify the operating system you're using on your computer.

You can download a manual from the manufacturer's web site at

If you took the pictures, and stored them on the camera's internal memory, then put in a memory card, it will read from the card and you wont be able to see the photos that are actually stuck on the camera. Try removing the SD card, then check for your photos.

Conversely, if you took the photos when the card was in, and then removed the card, the photos wont be stored on the camera, so you should look for the card.

Memory card error

Not sure what happened, but the pictures are not on the camera.
If the card was blank when put back, then they are lost.

You should always format the card on the camera once you have downloaded the pictures to the PC. This ensures the camera can read it and it is happy the card is OK. Don't rely on any cards formatted by a PC.

Memory card from digital camera can't be read on any computer also said I needed to refomat, which I did not reformat. but two computers can't read or detect card in the little card port. Can I retreive...

Unfortunately, Once you reformat, the pictures on that card are gone however if the stick is corrupt then you may have no choice. If two computers fail to read that card then chances are the only way to get it to work is to format it.. ( assuming it isn't permanently dameged of course).. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news..

I was on vacation and my pictures were on my disk when I RETURNED ,but now they are not there,I was using the Cannon Digital ixus 400, Is there a way to retreive them

Hi,
If the pictures were in the cameras internal memory there isn't much you can do unless the camera has an un-delete feature.
However if the pictures were on a memory card, firstly don't use the card.
There are many programs that can help you recover faulty formatted or corrupt memory cards. Do a search on google and try a few as some are better than others and some work better in certain situations than others.
searches to try
memory card recovery
memory card repair
Corrupted Memory Card

I wish you the very best of luck..
If I can be of further help drop me a line
